The Wind
The Diablos Lyrics

When the cool summer breeze
Sends a chill down my spine
And I long for my love's sweet caress
I know she is gone but my love lingers on
In a dream that the wind brings to me
I remember as we kissed in the cool summer breeze
As she lay warm and tender in my arms
And darlin', when I see lover's making love I long for you ...
And when the sun and the stars are shinnng above the mountains and the valleys,
Then darlin I look for you;
And even until the heavens above can no longer shine,
Even until then I shall still love you.
I know she is gone but my love it lingers on
In a dream that the wind brings to me.
The Diablos's song "The Wind" is a beautiful and poignant love song that speaks to the pain of lost love and the enduring power of memory. Throughout the lyrics, the wind is a recurring motif that represents the connection between the singer and his beloved. The opening lines, "Wind wind blow oooooh oooh blow wind wind," set the tone for the rest of the song, as the singer calls out to the wind, seeking solace and comfort in its embrace.
As the song continues, the singer reminisces about his lost love and the moments they shared together. He remembers the cool summer breeze that sent shivers down his spine and the way his love felt warm and tender in his arms. He longs for her touch and yearns for her presence, even though he knows that she is no longer there. Throughout it all, he turns to the wind as a symbol of connection and comfort, knowing that his love lingers on in his dreams and memories.
One of the most striking aspects of "The Wind" is its use of imagery and metaphor. The wind is a powerful symbol of both love and loss, representing the way that the singer's memories of his beloved are carried on the breeze. Similarly, the references to stars and lovers emphasize the universal nature of love and the way that it connects all of us, even across great distances and through time. Overall, "The Wind" is a deeply moving song that captures the bittersweet nature of love and the power of memory to keep us connected to those we have lost.

Must be a lot of oldsters here. This era was played at dances circa 1959-60. Never tire of listening. Thankfully youtube has preserved this great do-wop music.
