Overall Meaning

The lyrics of The Hu's song Wolf Totem describe a defiance against any and all threats that may come their way, be it lions, tigers, elephants, or even humans. With pride and ferocity, the group asserts that they will fight fiercely, and even obliterate anything that poses a threat to them. They compare themselves to Garuda birds, lions with blue manes, and even thunder, ready to strike with increasing force depending on the size of the adversary. They declare that they will defend themselves from any form of danger, whether it comes at them like a flood, a swarm, or a charge.

The song's lyrics also feature cultural references to the Great Khaan, Chinggis (better known as Genghis Khan), an important and revered figure in Mongolian history. The group calls on the wisdom of the Great Khaan to help them defeat their enemies, stampeding forward with their horses and cutting through their foes with the speed of flying falcons. Overall, the lyrics convey a message of strength, determination, and the willingness to fight and overcome any challenge or danger that may come their way.

@@kennylaysh2776 Haha enjoy yourself in that. 👍

But I say, “Put it down and step back from the hate.”

Unfortunately for you, Papa Roach has been one of the biggest, most successful, most loved rock bands out there over the last 10 years.

New music every year and a half or so, including #1’s on the rock charts & streaming platforms, plus packed show after show on relentless touring & festival schedules.

Most people who don’t like or know them usually end up leaving their live shows as fans.

There’s a reason everyone wants to tour with them and do collabs with them…their audience isn’t just people who were teens or older in the late 90’s early 2000’s. It’s full of young, new generation rock fans too.

Hate ‘em all you want, but this new music of theirs about to drop (2 songs already pre-released) looks to be pretty damn good once again.

*Transcriber's note: The original Mongolian text is in Cyrillic. For those of you who know Russian, Mongolian Cyrillic has a few differences in pronunciation. The Mongolian в sounds much more like the English w, and uses many more "short" vowels than Russian does. The consonants are significantly softer, as well. Any vowel I wrote with an umlaut over it (what some call "röck döts") indicates a short vowel. For example, ü sounds like the English u in the word "up," whereas the u transcribed without the umlaut sounds like the u in "flute". Same goes for the rest of the letters.

While I transcribed я as ya, which is how it's usually transcribed from Russian Cyrillic into Latinized Russian, it sounds more like ee or yee than ya. Hence why "nürgëye" and "dar"ya" rhyme in Mongolian. Also, kh (_х_ in Cyrillic) is pronounced like a very phlegmy h. It sounds more like a k than an h, really.

I listened to the song multiple times carefully and transcribed it as best as I could. Happy listening, everyone!*
