Titanium
The Piano Guys Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You shouted out,
That I can't hear a word you say.
I'm talking loud,
Not saying much.

I'm criticized,
But all your bullets ricochet.
You shoot me down,
But I get up.

I'm bullet proof,
Nothing to loose,
Fire away, fire away.
Ricochet. You take your aim.
Fire away, fire away.

You shoot me down,
But I won't fall.
I am titanium.

You shoot me down,
But I won't fall.
I am titanium.

I am titanium.

I am titanium.

Cut me down,
But its you who have farther to fall.
It grows down,
And hardly low.

You raise your voice,
Sticks and stones may break my bones.
I am talking loud,
Not saying much.

I'm bully proof,
Nothing to loose,
Fire away, fire away.
Ricochet. You take your aim.
Fire away, fire away.

You shoot me down,
But I won't fall.
I am titanium.

You shoot me down,
But I won't fall.
I am titanium.

I am titanium.

Stone hard, machine gun,
Firing at the ones who run.
Stone hard, like bullet proof lens.

You shoot me down,
But I won't fall.
I am titanium.

You shoot me down,
But I won't fall.
I am titanium.
You shoot me down,
But I won't fall.

You shoot me down,
But I won't fall.
I am titanium.

You shoot me down,
But I won't fall.
I am titanium.

I am titanium.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to The Piano Guys' song Titanium / Pavane are an anthem of resilience, a declaration of strength and determination in the face of adversity. The singer is being criticized and attacked, but remains undaunted, refusing to be brought down by the words and actions of others. The opening lines suggest that the singer is being ignored or dismissed, but they are determined to be heard: "You shouted out, That I can't hear a word you say. I'm talking loud, Not saying much." They are talking loudly, but feel that their words are not being heard or understood.

The chorus, "You shoot me down, but I won’t fall" is a powerful statement of resilience, and the repeated assertion "I am titanium" reinforces this message. The lyrics also explore the power dynamic at play in the situation. The singer claims to be "bullet proof," suggesting that they are not easily hurt or defeated by criticism or attacks. They are "talking loud, not saying much," indicating that they are confident and assertive, even if their words are not being taken seriously.

The final lines of the song ("Stone hard, like bulletproof glass / You shoot me down but I won't fall / I am titanium") capture the essence of the singer's attitude: they are tough, indestructible, and impervious to the attacks of others. The song encourages listeners to embrace their own strength and resilience, and to remember that they are capable of withstanding whatever challenges life may throw their way.

Since discovering you guys awhile back I now listen to your music almost exclusively. In a world filled with too much evil, hated and darkness what you offer to the world is hope, inspiration and love. Your music literally resonates with the heartbeat of the universe—otherwise referred to as the Schumann resonance.

To those who would scoff at such a statement need only to read “The Urantia Book” to discover the source of all energy originates from the Stationary Isle of Paradise; otherwise known as the “home” of the First Source and Center of all Creation. Our Heavenly Father is known by many different names throughout the inhabited worlds of space and time.

Until our world is removed from quarantine status—which prevents us from hearing the music played throughout the celestial realm, may many others discover the soulful sounds originating from the fingers, heart and soul of two very talented musicians!

And a heartfelt thanks to those behind the scenes who help make it all happen!

I was bullied as a child and would come home crying almost everyday. My mother would look me in the eyes and tell me that my skin needs to be as hard as titanium. Don't let anything pierce it. Twelve years later, on her deathbed that was the last thing she told me. May she rest in peace knowing that I am titanium. You're my hero, mom.
