Just You Just Me
Thelonious Monk Lyrics

Just you, just me
Let's find a cozy spot
To cuddle and coo

Just us, just we
I've missed an awful lot
My trouble is you

Oh, gee!
What are your charms for?
What are my arms for?
Use your imagination!
Just you, just me
I'll tie a lover's knot
'Round wonderful you!

Pure Monk, what swing and ideas. Charlie Rouse fantastic the best tenor sax for Monk. The rithym section marvelus.

Since then I have found Miles, Coltrane, Shorter, and more....Thanks to YouTube. I love it.

I always admired how Monk can dress a tune in such a personal way, that it's easy to miss that he plays the melody as it was written.

Monk's magnificent! I met him and saw him live a few times! Always spectacular and Charlie Rouse is something else! Remember Monk said the piano aint got no wrong notes! ;-)

Larry Gales is superb on the bass. What a perfect rhythm.

I grew up listening to Nat King Cole and his group do this on the lp After Midnight. This is great too!

Did Monk play this? How wonderful!!

oh I've listened to this a thousands times still feeling the thrill!

My favorite song off this album! It sounds to me the way jazz is supposed to sound. Monk built his song 'Evidence' off the progression to this tune. I just love this!

That's great, you shouldn't have to know anything about jazz to know how it makes you feel! That's how you know it's good! :]
