Steadier Footing
Death Cab for Cutie Lyrics

It's gotten late and now I want to be alone
All of our friends were here, they all have gone home
And here I sit on the front porch watching the drunks stumble forth into the night

"You gave me a heart attack, I did not see you there.
I thought you had disappeared so early away from here."

And this is the chance I never got to make a move.
But we just talk about the people we've met in the last 5 years.
And will remember them in ten more?
I let you bum a smoke, you quit this winter past.
I've tried twice before but like this, it just will not last.

I feel I can create a film solely based on this track.

I know what you mean; I feel that way with a lot of Death Cab songs. Ben's lyrics are so rich with imagery.

This song came on when it was on shuffle on my ipod (yes i still have one of those) and in my dream, i had drempt that me and my friends where running down a road on a hill at night. The road was lighten by a dim lighten orangish light, we ran, screaming, smilling, being your typical group of teenage kids... eventually we started raising our hands in the air.... god it wish it were real

Saved myself from listen ing to this I don't know why.
it's .. beautifull and hauntingly familiar all these years I have missed out. It's like a missing parralell other life manifest beyond my narrow envisioning

Kamikaze Chivalry

Definitely my favorite Death Cab song.

Yeah, this song is definitely one of my favorite Death Cab songs, with the whole album probably being my favorite. It's just so freakin' good with an almost-cinematic quality. And it has real emotion (hint hint, pop music: not all of life is partying and having fun) Death Cab is just.... So. Goddamn. Good. (And sometimes too real, but I ain't complaining)
