Tyo came up with the band name from "Adam and Eve," due to all band members being of the male persuasion. Eventually Tino and Tyo left, Beni switched to bass, while Saleh "Ale" bin Husein (also of White Shoes & the Couples Company) and Bimo Dwipoalam joined on guitar and drums respectively.
In 2005, The Adams released their self-titled debut album, featuring the singles "Konservatif" and "Waiting," both of which were also featured in the hit movie Janji Joni. Later in the year, Beni left to focus on his duties as drummer for The Upstairs, while Bimo moved to Bali to continue his studies. Karon ’N Roll guitarist Arfan (or Apoy) was drafted as bassist, Gigih Suryoprayogo Setiadi (alias Kiting) of It’s Different Class took over Bimo’s place behind the drumkit, and live keyboardist Retiara Haswidya Nasution (a.k.a Kaka) was promoted to full-time member.
In 2006, The Adams’ new line-up released v2.05, which expanded their old sound with more elaborate song structures and swirling five-part harmonies. With the hit singles "Halo Beni," "Hanya Kau" and "Selamat Pagi Juwita" and their electrifying live shows, The Adams have become one of Indonesia’s most exciting bands.
After a long hiatus in 2008 to work on other projects, The Adams are now back and ready to make more music and reconnect with their fans who have been awaiting their return.
