Curtain Call

Tonight, tonight, tonight
Tonight, tonight, tonight
Oh-oh
Lu lu lu lu lu tu
(Yeah)
Alright, alright, alright
Alright, alright, alright
The lyrics of Shota Shimizu's song Curtain Call reflect the struggles of everyday life and the search for meaning and purpose. The song starts by stating that there is no show where everyone is the lead character, and who decides who plays which role. This could refer to the common notion that some people are more important than others or have more opportunities. The second verse mentions the feeling of being a spectator to the passing of time, without questioning the events and circumstances. However, the chorus offers hope that even if everything feels like fake, the pain and emotions felt are real, and someday, there will be a moment of triumph that will make the struggles worthwhile. The bridge and final verse repeat the idea of the journey being difficult, but still worth it because there is a chance to inspire oneself and others.
The song can be interpreted as a call to persevere despite the challenges and to strive for self-actualization. The songwriter acknowledges that life is not fair and that there are setbacks, but encourages listeners to keep moving forward and find their place in the world. The recurring phrase "curtain call" represents the idea that every person has a chance to take the stage and make an impact. It is also worth noting that the lyrics are in both Japanese and English, which could symbolize the universal themes of the song.
