The lyrics of Świetliki's song "Przed wyborami" depict a vivid and thought-provoking image of a garden, intertwining elements of summer, autumn, and death. The singer starts by stating that they bought two leeks for dinner, carrying them behind their back like flowers. The line "Lato się gryzie z jesienią forma ocalała i wychodzi z podziemia" translates to "Summer bites with autumn, the form survives and emerges from underground." This line suggests a clash between different seasons, symbolizing contrasting emotions and experiences. Despite the clash, everything falls into a unified and perfect shape, resembling a concentration camp garden.
In the second verse, the singer again mentions buying two leeks for dinner, holding them like a cross this time. They express feeling so dead that they walk and feel everything. This implies a state of emotional numbness, where the singer is detached from their surroundings. Once again, everything aligns and falls into a clear and perfect shape, resembling a concentration camp garden.
Overall, the lyrics of "Przed wyborami" evoke a sense of dissonance, juxtaposing conflicting elements like life and death, summer and autumn, and beauty and darkness. The mention of a concentration camp garden adds a layer of historical and metaphorical significance, highlighting the horrors of the past and the complexities of human existence.
