BarlowGirl's Philosophy
The band has gained a following with their "Anti-Conformity" message of "Don't be conformed, be Transformed" from Romans 12:1-2. Besides believing in abstinence and modesty, the band has also taken a stand on not dating, but their main message remains that people should look to God for love and security, and he will bring everything else into our lives. Very simply, trust God. They encourage people to trust the unseen. Just because you can't see God doesn't mean He isn't there!
Self Titled Debut Album
BarlowGirl instantly hit the spotlight in 2004 with their acclaimed self-titled debut album, coupled with the success of its first single, Never Alone. The longest running No. 1 song in 2004 on R&R’s CHR and CRW Rock charts, Never Alone was named "Song of the Year" on each of these charts. The CD has sold over 250,000 units (as of April 2005) and featured the singles Never Alone and Mirror which both garnered much airplay on Christian radio stations. These number one songs earned the trio four 2005 GMA (Gospel Music Association) awards (formerly the Dove Award) award nominations, including the prestigious Best New Artist award, Best Rock Song and Rock Album. The trio was the best selling new Christian artist of 2004. BarlowGirl received a 2006 GMA award nomination for Rock/Contemporary Song of the Year for Mirror.

Everyday Life

For the answers for my life
All this time I've held the key
And had control of me
But now You're saying
That You also hold the key
For those plans You made for my life
Plans made just for me
Can I trust You
Will You guide me
And show me how to live this life
Should I give my life for You
And can I trust You with this everyday life
And can I trust You with this everyday life
I can feel You telling me
And if I would just believe
You would take my life and show me
Exactly what You mean
When You say that "You can trust me
And I know what you need
I am more for you than anything
You could ever dream."
Can I trust You
Will You guide me
And show me how to live this life
Should I give my life for You
And can I trust You with this everyday life
Can I trust You
Will You guide me
And show me how to live this life
Can I give my life to You
And can I trust You with this everyday life
And can I trust You with this everyday life
The lyrics of BarlowGirl's song "Everyday Life" express the struggle that many people face with trusting God and surrendering control of their lives to Him. The song begins with the realization that the singer has been searching for answers within herself, but now understands that God has a plan for her life and holds the key to her future. The singer questions whether she can trust God with her life and asks for guidance.
The chorus repeats the question of whether the singer can trust God with her everyday life, and acknowledges that she needs guidance and direction in order to live the life that God has planned for her. The second verse speaks to the possibility of a deeper level of surrender, in which the singer is willing to give her entire life to God and trust Him with every aspect of her existence.
