BarlowGirl's Philosophy
The band has gained a following with their "Anti-Conformity" message of "Don't be conformed, be Transformed" from Romans 12:1-2. Besides believing in abstinence and modesty, the band has also taken a stand on not dating, but their main message remains that people should look to God for love and security, and he will bring everything else into our lives. Very simply, trust God. They encourage people to trust the unseen. Just because you can't see God doesn't mean He isn't there!
Self Titled Debut Album
BarlowGirl instantly hit the spotlight in 2004 with their acclaimed self-titled debut album, coupled with the success of its first single, Never Alone. The longest running No. 1 song in 2004 on R&R’s CHR and CRW Rock charts, Never Alone was named "Song of the Year" on each of these charts. The CD has sold over 250,000 units (as of April 2005) and featured the singles Never Alone and Mirror which both garnered much airplay on Christian radio stations. These number one songs earned the trio four 2005 GMA (Gospel Music Association) awards (formerly the Dove Award) award nominations, including the prestigious Best New Artist award, Best Rock Song and Rock Album. The trio was the best selling new Christian artist of 2004. BarlowGirl received a 2006 GMA award nomination for Rock/Contemporary Song of the Year for Mirror.
Another Journal Entry
Their second album, Another Journal Entry, was released on September 27, 2005. The first single from the album, Let Go, had already begun receiving airplay on Christian radio stations. Their next single from this album, I Need You to Love Me, has also received recent some airplay on some Christian radio stations after the album's debut. The album debuted at #3 on Soundscan's Christian album chart, and, as of Oct. 10, is at 85 on Billboards Top 200 Current Albums chart. The trio was nominated for three additional 2006 GMA (Gospel Music Association) awards: Group of the Year, Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year, and and Rock Recorded Song of the Year for Let Go.

But you didn't show, no no no
I needed you today
So where did you go?
You told me to call
Said you'd be there
And though I haven't seen you
I cried out with no reply
And I can't feel you by my side
So I'll hold tight to what I know
You're here, and I'm never alone
And though I can not see you
And I can't explain why
Such a deep, deep reassurance
You've placed in my life
Whoa, we cannot separate
'Cause you're part of me
And though you're invisible
I'll trust the unseen
I cried out with no reply
And I can't feel you by my side
So I'll hold tight to what I know
You're here, and I'm never alone
We cannot separate
You're part of me
And though you're invisible
I'll trust the unseen
I cried out with no reply
And I can't feel you by my side
So I'll hold tight to what I know
You're here, and I'm never alone
The song "Never Alone" by BarlowGirl explores the sense of spiritual abandonment that many individuals experience in times of distress or uncertainty. The singer starts by expressing disappointment that God did not show up when they needed him most. She then questions whether God is even still present, given that she has not seen him. The chorus suggests that even in the absence of physical evidence, the singer knows that God is with her at all times. The second verse expands on this idea, noting that even when God seems "invisible," there is a deep sense of reassurance that he is present.
The refrain "I cried out with no reply / And I can't feel you by my side / So I'll hold tight to what I know / You're here, and I'm never alone" encapsulates the central message of the song - that even when God feels distant, the singer will remain steadfast in her faith, trusting that she is never truly alone. The bridge goes further to emphasize that the connection between God and the singer is unbreakable and inseparable, regardless of external circumstances.
Overall, "Never Alone" is a powerful expression of the struggle to maintain faith in difficult times. The song acknowledges the feelings of abandonment and uncertainty that are often present in times of crisis while also emphasizing the importance of holding onto faith and trusting in the unseen.

I waited for you today
I had been expecting you to arrive today
But you didn't show, no no no
However, you were not present and didn't show up at all
I needed you today
I really needed you today
So where did you go?
Hence, I'm left wondering where you went
You told me to call
You had told me to call you
Said you'd be there
Mentioned that you would be there
And though I haven't seen you
Although I haven't seen you in person
Are you still there?
I'm wondering if you're still present or not
I cried out with no reply
I screamed out, but nobody answered
And I can't feel you by my side
I can't sense your presence beside me
So I'll hold tight to what I know
Therefore, I'll firmly hold on to what I'm sure of
You're here, and I'm never alone
That's you. You are here, and I will never be alone
And though I can not see you
I may not be able to see you
And I can't explain why
I don't have an explanation for it
Such a deep, deep reassurance
But there's an immense reassurance
You've placed in my life
That you have given me in my life
Whoa, we cannot separate
We cannot be separated from each other
'Cause you're part of me
Because you are a part of me
And though you're invisible
Despite being invisible to me
I'll trust the unseen
I will have faith in things I cannot see
I cried out with no reply
Again, In desperation, I screamed, but there was no answer
And I can't feel you by my side
I still can't feel you by my side
So I'll hold tight to what I know
Thus, I'll embrace what I know is true
You're here, and I'm never alone
You're always here with me, and I will never feel alone
