BarlowGirl's Philosophy
The band has gained a following with their "Anti-Conformity" message of "Don't be conformed, be Transformed" from Romans 12:1-2. Besides believing in abstinence and modesty, the band has also taken a stand on not dating, but their main message remains that people should look to God for love and security, and he will bring everything else into our lives. Very simply, trust God. They encourage people to trust the unseen. Just because you can't see God doesn't mean He isn't there!
Self Titled Debut Album
BarlowGirl instantly hit the spotlight in 2004 with their acclaimed self-titled debut album, coupled with the success of its first single, Never Alone. The longest running No. 1 song in 2004 on R&R’s CHR and CRW Rock charts, Never Alone was named "Song of the Year" on each of these charts. The CD has sold over 250,000 units (as of April 2005) and featured the singles Never Alone and Mirror which both garnered much airplay on Christian radio stations. These number one songs earned the trio four 2005 GMA (Gospel Music Association) awards (formerly the Dove Award) award nominations, including the prestigious Best New Artist award, Best Rock Song and Rock Album. The trio was the best selling new Christian artist of 2004. BarlowGirl received a 2006 GMA award nomination for Rock/Contemporary Song of the Year for Mirror.
Another Journal Entry
Their second album, Another Journal Entry, was released on September 27, 2005. The first single from the album, Let Go, had already begun receiving airplay on Christian radio stations. Say With Me
BarlowGirl Lyrics

And life is not dying in this fight
I'm begging you to deliver me ooh ooh ooh
Confused why you won't take this pain from me
My steps never felt so hard
The end never look so far but
If you won't take me out
Stay with me so I won't leave
And make me see that this is not forever
'Cause all I need is your love pulling me
What is the reason for this night
Is hope found in fullness with no light
Does strength grow in our greatest fears
God I pray something good will come from this pain
With you here I know
I don't go alone
I am yours and so
Through the fire I'll go
The song "Say With Me" by BarlowGirl starts with the singer feeling helpless and struggling to cope with life's challenges. The singer calls out to God, asking Him to deliver her from her pain. The lyrics convey a sense of confusion and desperation, with the singer questioning why God won't take her pain away. Despite feeling overwhelmed, the singer acknowledges that she needs God's love to help her through this difficult time. The chorus serves as a plea to God to stay with the singer and help her see that her suffering is not infinite.
The second verse shifts focus to the purpose of the singer's pain. She wonders if there's a reason for what she's going through, if hope can be found even in dark moments, and if strength can grow from fear. The singer prays that something good will come out of her pain. The bridge climaxes with the declaration that the singer is not alone, that she belongs to God, and that she will overcome the trials she faces.
Overall, "Say With Me" is a powerful expression of a believer's struggle with faith in the face of adversity. The lyrics acknowledge that life can be hard and painful, but they also remind us that God is always with us, even in our darkest moments. The song encourages listeners to hold on to hope, to trust in God's love, and to believe that something good can come out of adversity.
