That's My Desire
Channels Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And reminisce with you that's my desire.
To meet where gypsies play, down in that dim cafe,
And dance 'till break of day that's my desire.
We'll sip a little glass of wine, I'll gaze into your eyes divine.
I'll feel the touch of your lips pressing on mine.
To hear you whisper low just when it's time to go,
The lyrics of Channels' song "That's My Desire" describe the yearning of a lover to be with his or her significant other in a romantic and intimate setting. The singer of the song wishes to spend a night with their lover in a familiar and meaningful place where they have had past rendezvous. They long to reminisce with their lover about their shared experiences, which is the driving force behind their desire.
The verse then goes on to describe an alternate setting - a dimly-lit cafe where gypsies play music, where the couple can dance until the break of day. The reference to gypsies playing music adds to the romantic and exotic ambiance being described in the song. The singer then imagines them both sharing a glass of wine while gazing into their lover's eyes. The culmination of their desire is to indulge in a romantic kiss, to be whispered loving words to, and finally to express their own love for their partner.
Overall, the lyrics of "That's My Desire" capture the longing, passion, and romance of a love-struck individual. The descriptive imagery in the song adds to the romantic atmosphere and helps to convey the emotion behind the words.
