I'm 79 & this song always brings tears to my eyes and It was so special to dance to.. I get chills listening to it - it brings back such beautiful memories,. Why can't we have music like that again? Even just a radio station playing Doo Wop exclusively would be great! I'm so happy we can still hear it. Growing up in the 50's and 60's was fantastic. I am sooo blessed! Thanks for keeping it going. I'm 55 and enjoyed a resurgence of interest in '50s music when I was a teen during the '70s -- mostly due to the TV show "Happy Days" and the movie "American Graffiti." There was a '50s radio station in the DC area called WMOD 98.7 at that time.

This is one of the doo-wop songs I do in karaoke. If I ever propose marriage again, I am thinking of doing it in a karaoke place and singing "My Prayer" by the Platters.

This song reminds me of my father. When I was a kid my Dad would sing Tonight, Tonight to me. This was back in the late 50's and early 60's. Growing up to Doo-Wop and singing it through my teen years with a couple of buddies, undeniably some of the best songs ever was born of this genre along with Tonight, Tonight as one of the very best of the era.

This song was written by Dick Levister the manager of the group. It has some of the best lyrics, arrangement and harmony of that era. Tonite-Tonite was released in July of 1957 and became a million seller within a short time. It is one of the best known Classics of Doo Woop music. Still can picture my husband and myself slow dancing to the music, falling in love, married him at 16 and him 18. You can make a very strong case that this is the greatest Doo Wop song of all time. It completely captures the sound and feel of the late '50s, and the vocals are fantastic.

And you can also make case that the people who created this genre of music are the must creative gifted people and the black gentleman that produce and created their style / pattern / sound / delivery was the best at it and he along with his people should get more credit & compensation for it , wouldn't you agree ?

I'm also 73. Weren't we so fortunate to have been born at a time when we were just the right age when this music was popular. Sometimes when I have nothing else to do, I get on here and listen to all of my old favorites. Some people say we only remember the good things from that era, but there were a lot more good things than there are now. Yes, there was the concern about "The Bomb", but most of us realized no one wanted to be first to push the button. I'll be going to my 55th high school reunion next week and maybe we'll play some of these oldies and dance to them and remember "the good old days".

Russell Tyson The 50s were the best of the best....It seemed safer and the fun was so innocent, but still fun...Cruising down Van Nuys blvd right into Bob Big Boy where the cop followed me in and gave me a ticket for not coming to a complete stop for the red light and then tuning..Funny thing it wasn';t my car, I just asked my friend if I could drive...Have a great time at your reunion...I am Reseda High School class of S,59.. I was a lovesick teenager dancing to this with my high school sweetheart. He had loads of doo wop 45s and permission to have dance parties with a few selected friends at his house back then. This and all the other songs of that period bring back such feelings of wishing to live it all over again.

18 years old, there is so much to say but little words come to mind, I’ve always felt I was born in the wrong generation. Music like this fills my heart with joy as well as the thought of my grandparents. My friends always pester me for liking this type music, but I don not care and I take pride in that. I was never introduced to the genre of “Doo-Wop” but this music feels like home to me, I’ve always imagined myself slow dancing under the stars with the love of my life to this song. I hope the older generation finds this comment to share with me their favorite melodies from their time, as I do not know many, God bless you all.❤️

All you had to be was born Latino. This music is heavily part of our community, even though it’s more of the “cholos”. I’m 20 and EVERYONE around my age, older, younger, 100% grew up with oldies like this and we love em and know em well and we grew up listening to the art laboe radio station in socal. They still dress like this era sometimes too at car shows.

Bob, Neil, and Eddie are my fiance's great uncles. I wish Bob was still around, may he rest in peace. They could have tried to perform for our wedding. This was my favorite doo wop song before we even met. Awesome fact. There you go internet world!

I had the same thinking back in the 50's about this song and others, it's from a Black Group, but i was wrong. Some people thought Elvis was black just because the way he sang, but they were also wrong, but it was All Great Rock and Roll music that will always be here forever, "Tonight Tonight" by the Mello Kings was one of the All Time Greatest.
