Born in Rome, Italy, Vianello started his career in 1956. His first successes came in 1961, with Il capello (Hair) and Pinne fucile ed occhiali (Fins, Spear, and Goggles), which both charted up to the 2nd position in the Italian Hit Parade.
Vianello had several successes in the 1960s, such as Guarda come dondolo (Watch as I Swing), Abbronzatissima (Very Tanned), O mio signore (Oh My Lord) which topped the charts, and I Watussi which went up to 3rd. After a less successful period, he re-launched his career in the 1970s, founding the duo Vianella with his wife Wilma Goich. Their main hit of the period was Semo gente de borgata (We Are People from a Small Town) that reached #7. In the late 1970s, he reprised his solo career.
As of 2006, the songs of Vianello were included in the soundtracks of 64 films while the Italian rights-collecting agency SIAE estimates sales of over 50 million Vianello records worldwide.

Cicci, ciccio cicciona cha cha
Sei come la luna
Che splende quando è piena
Oh-oh-oh cicciona
Tu mi piaci così
Coi baci d'amore
Tu splendi come il sole
Oh-oh-oh cicciona
Resta sempre così
Quel dì che dovremo sposare
Cicciona così come sei
Due lune con te dovrò fare
Due lune, due lune di miel
Sei come la luna
Che splende quando è piena
Oh-oh-oh cicciona
Tu mi piaci così
Cicci, ciccio cicciona cha cha
Cicci, ciccio cicciona cha cha
Quel dì che dovremo sposare
Cicciona così come sei
Due lune con te dovrò fare
Due lune, due lune di miel
Sei come la luna
Che splende quando è piena
Oh-oh-oh cicciona
Resta sempre così
Cicci, ciccio cicciona cha cha
Cicci, ciccio cicciona cha cha
Cicci, ciccio cicciona cha cha
Cicci, ciccio cicciona cha cha
The song "Cicciona cha cha" by Edoardo Vianello is a love song that celebrates the beauty and charm of a plus-size woman. The lyrics are simple yet heartfelt, praising the woman's resemblance to the full moon, which shines with such beauty and intensity when it is at its peak.
The opening lines "Cicci, ciccio cicciona cha cha" are repeated throughout the song and serve as a playful nickname for the woman. The chorus repeats these lines along with the refrain "Tu mi piaci così" ("I like you like this"), emphasizing the singer's attraction to the woman's curves and voluptuousness.
The verse goes on to describe how the woman's beauty is as radiant as the sun with her kisses of love. The singer then imagines their future together, referencing their upcoming wedding day and the promise of a passionate honeymoon with "due lune di miel" ("two moons of honey").
Overall, the song celebrates body positivity and promotes the idea that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. It also highlights the importance of self-love and acceptance, as the singer is completely enamored with the woman just as she is.
