Quasi niente del mio male;
È per questo che tu vuoi il pretesto
Per mandarmi all'ospedale.
Non son malato di cose che sai,
I miei dolori si chiamano guai.
Avere nella testa tante cose nella testa
E non poterle mai dire.
Non son malato di cose che sai,
I miei dolori si chiamano guai.
New York, t'ho visto in un film.
New York, che bello quel film.
New York, t'ho visto in un film.
New York, che strano quel film.
New York, t'ho visto in un film.
New York, che bello quel film.
New York, t'ho visto in un film.
New York, New York, New York city.....!!
Son sicuro che, laggiù a New York,
Tutte le cose son diverse.
Non posso stare qui a combattere
Guerre già perse.
No, non ci credo che questa sia vita;
Voglio più soldi tra queste mie dita.
La vita è un trip, un orribile viaggio;
Quello che ho vissuto in questi primi vent'anni,
Non è altro che un assaggio.
No, non ci credo che questa sia vita;
Voglio più soldi tra queste mie dita.
New York, t'ho visto in un film.
New York, che bello quel film.
New York, t'ho visto in un film.
New York, che strano quel film.
New York, t'ho visto in un film.
New York, che bello quel film.
New York, t'ho visto in un film.
New York, New York, New York city......!!
New York, New York......
The lyrics of Enrico Ruggeri's "New York" depict a sense of dissatisfaction and disillusionment with life. The singer expresses frustration with someone who can't understand his pain and wants to send him to the hospital, but his pain is not physical or easily recognizable. It is instead a sense of being overwhelmed by having too many things to say and not being able to express them. The phrase "non son malato di cose che sai, i miei dolori si chiamano guai" translates to "I'm not sick with the things you know, my pain is called troubles."
The singer then expresses a desire to leave and go to New York, believing that everything is different there and he cannot fight any more losing battles in his current situation. He sees life as a terrible journey and feels that the first twenty years of his life have only been a taste of it. The repetition of "New York, t'ho visto in un film" (New York, I saw you in a movie) reinforces the idea of the singer looking to escape and find a new sense of meaning and purpose. The song ultimately ends with the repetition of "New York, New York" capturing a sense of longing and hope for something new and exciting.
Overall, "New York" highlights the struggle of feeling trapped and unfulfilled, and the desire to break free and find a new path. It speaks to a universal experience of feeling lost and unsure of one's place in the world.

Cristo santo che capolavoro sto album. Manifesto puro. Se fosse stato Sex Pistols o Clash tutti a masturbarsi, ma sono i Decibel e tutti li hanno snobbati.
