Here are some of my "bragging rights". That is MY oldest Brother playing Steel guitar with Marty in this video. They started working together in Phoenix, in 1949 and shared a life-long career together. They were inseparable friends. Marty and his family were like family to me. Love them all. Wonderful as wonderful could ever be.

@josh randall Thank You Josh. Yes, I did get plenty of blessings from the whole experience. Out of 7 boys, I am the caboose (youngest) and all of us except for 1 played at least two instruments, me being the one who actually play the most. Maybe that's because all the older ones gave me a bit of inspiration to learn more. I am still still a fan and still learning. Growing up with Marty and my brother, Jim Farmer, working together, along with the early exposure to country music was something I do cherish. Marty had one of the greatest voices in Country Music as well as being one of the greatest song writers in that genre. He wrote and performed such a tremendous and wonderful variety of songs that were second to none. I am glad I was blessed to be there to see it all come together in such a magnificent way. My hope is that our musical heritage will live on and be appreciated.

@Robert Farmer what a blessed upbringing, most people never get to experience making music like that. Used to be the norm, it's sad we've all but lost our musical heritage.

@The Opal City Poker Chips Thank you so much. It really was awesome and I was always proud of that. The band gathered at my family's house many, many times for rehearsal, for the convenience sake of things. There never was a woman present for any of those rehearsals, except the wives of two of my brothers and Marty's wife. There was just Marty, my brother Jim and 2 other fellows. There were 7 boys in my family, each of six of us could play at least two instruments. One brother didn't play anything but he was a terrific ARTIST. I am the one who wound up playing the most instruments. Whenever the five brothers (before I was playing) got together on our huge front porch, neighbors would gather to watch and listen, and they also did the same when Marty and the band would gather there for rehearsal. I didn't get to sit in on the "Jams" in the "early days", as I was the Caboose of the family. When I reached about 14, I was working with drums and guitar. They were all glad to have me join in. Four of us did sing, but I basically became the lead singer of the family. Our harmony was what I was especially proud of. We had a lot of variety in our music, we played the full array of Country Music instruments. We had Steel, (two brothers were actually steel players, one played Dobro, we also had Fiddle, Upright Bass, Lead & Rhythm Guitars, Harmonica, Dobro, Accordion, Mandolin and Banjo. We played a lot of acoustic (unplugged) as well as electric. I am the sole survivor now of all of those seven boys. That group of brothers was still the "best gig" I have ever played.

That’s really cool.

Do you remember Marty performing in the Honky Tonks in Phoenix between '49-'52 with my mother Helen Barabas/Klockner as a duet? I understand from my mother, Maarty wanted her to go on the road with him, but she opted to stay behind a fight a custody battle with my father Stephen Barabas

When I was growing up in the early 60's this was one of my Dad's favourites. I really miss my Dad and this brings back such great memories of sitting with him and listening to the record player.

I was 4 - my mom had this 78 and I remember her playing it! To this day it is one of my all time favorite country songs. Thank you so much for this glorious color clip!!
