Fight The Fade Lyrics

I've never given up
You still hold on
You fight for what you love
But I have let you down 100 times before
& As the end comes near
I just need to know
What kind of legacy will be here when I leave?
Can you look past the things that I did with regret?
What kind of legacy will be here when I leave?
Now I know I've made mistakes
I'll never take back
But you have never let me go
Yeah, you have never let me go
The time in here is so brief
& grows shorter every day
Immense the broken promises
Find a part of me to hold on to
Will you remember me when the lights go down?
What kind of legacy will be here when I leave?
Can you look past the things that I did with regret?
What kind of legacy will be here when I leave
& I feel the icy hand on death
Reaching for my heart beating in my chest
Will you remember me?
Will I be anything?
I know my end is coming near
The one that I fear is that
I won't leave a legacy
Will you remember me when the lights go down?
What kind of legacy will be here when I leave?
Can you look past the things that I did with regret?
What kind of legacy will be here when I leave?
When the lights go down.
The lyrics to "Legacy" by Fight The Fade showcase the struggles and regrets of the singer as they come to the end of their life. The chorus is a plea to those they love, asking if they will be remembered and what kind of legacy they will leave behind. The singer acknowledges the mistakes they have made in the past and the hurt they have caused, but still hopes to be remembered fondly.
Throughout the song, the singer expresses both gratitude and guilt towards those who have stuck by them despite their flaws. They acknowledge the brevity of life and the importance of leaving a positive impact, but also fear that their legacy may not be significant enough to be remembered.
Overall, "Legacy" is a poignant and introspective song that prompts listeners to consider their own legacies and the impact they leave on the world.
