Françoise Hardy signed her first contract with the record label Vogue in November 1961. In April 1962, shortly after finishing school, her first record Oh Oh Chéri appeared, written by Johnny Hallyday's writing duo. Her own flip side of the record, "Tous Les Garçons Et Les Filles" became a success, riding the wave of Yé-yé music in France, with two million sales.
Hardy sang in French, English, Italian, Spanish, and German. In 1963 she came fifth for Monaco in the Eurovision Song Contest with "L'amour s'en va". In 1963, she was awarded the Grand Prix Du Disque of the Charles Cros Academy.
In 1981, she married her long-time companion Jacques Dutronc, with whom she had had a son, Thomas Dutronc, in 1973. In 1994, she collaborated with the British pop group Blur for their "La Comedie" version of To The End. In May 2000, she made a comeback with the album Clair Obscur. Her son played guitar and her husband sang the duet "Puisque Vous Partez En Voyage." Iggy Pop and Étienne Daho also took part. Hardy lives near Paris and Dutronc lives in Monticello, Corsica, although they remain a couple.[citation needed]
Jamais Synchrones

derrière son masque d'indifférence
son humour noir, son insolence
un coup j'me bloque, un coup j'me lance
j'ai rien à dire pour ma défense
j'pardonne pas trop l'abus d'confiance
souvent j'bats froid, je perds patience
un coup j'me tais, un coup j'balance
j'sais pas
où on va
jamais synchrones
jamais synchrones
jamais là quand j'appelle
c'est le symptôme,
c'est l'histoire habituels
jamais synchrones

The song "Jamais Synchrones" by Françoise Hardy explores the theme of the lack of synchronization in a romantic relationship. The lyrics express the frustration and confusion of a person who cannot understand the thoughts of their partner. The first verse describes the difficulties of deciphering the emotions behind the partner's mask of indifference, their humor, and their insolence. The singer goes on to explain how they lose their patience and switch between bouts of silence and anger. They forgive but do not forget the breach of trust, making it hard for them to express themselves truthfully. The chorus emphasizes the problem of never being on the same wavelength, pushing them down when they want to climb up, and rarely being present when needed.
The second verse discusses the tendency to rely on defensive mechanisms that may not reflect how one truly feels. The singer admits to being inconsistent in their attitudes, descending from praise to criticism, and struggling to find their voice. The chorus repeats, emphasizing how the lack of synchronization is worse than a ritual that disrupts the rhythm of their relationship, causes sparks to fly, and obstructs their communication. The final line, "aveu confidentiel" (confidential admission), suggests that the singer may be sharing their struggles in confidence and implying that the problem is not solely their own.
Overall, the lyrics suggest a relationship that is strained by misunderstandings, miscommunication, and mistrust. The title "Jamais Synchrones" (Never Synchronized) implies a fundamental mismatch between the individuals involved, making it difficult for them to connect on a deeper level.
