E m'innammorerai
Gino Paoli Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
io non lo so cosa farei
un sorriso per far compagnia
a questa mia malinconia
un sorriso appena accennato
come di un bimbo
ch'e' appena nato
da quando sei nata
ad adesso
e m'innamorerai
e t'innamorero'
tu con la tua allegria
io con la mia malinconia
e m'innamorerai
e t'innamorero'
ci sono malattie
inevitabili
per avere un sorriso da te
io non lo so cosa farei
per vedere un mondo che sia
vestito con la tua allegria
so che dentro il tuo amore io entro
come un naufrago in punta di piedi
per sentire quello che tu senti
per vedere quel che tu vedi
e m'innamorerai
e t'innamorero'
tu con la tua allegria
io con la mia malinconia
e m'innamorerai
e t'innamorero'
ci sono malattie
inevitabili
e m'innamorerai
e t'innamorero'
ci sono malattie
inevitabili
e m'innamorerai
e t'innamorero'
ci sono storie
inevitabili
per avere un sorriso da te
io non lo so cosa farei
The song "E m'innammorerai" by Gino Paoli is a love song about wanting to make someone happy, and the lengths one would go to achieve this. The song starts with the singer expressing his desire to see the person he loves smile, and how important that is to him. He says he would do almost anything to bring joy to their life and ease his own sadness. He then speaks about how this person's smile has been a constant in his life, from birth until the present day.
The chorus of the song speaks about how he will fall in love with this person, and they will fall in love with him, despite their differences. He acknowledges that there are inevitable difficulties and obstacles in life, but the power of their love will overpower them. The singer compares entering the person's love to being a castaway, tiptoeing into their heart to feel what they feel, and see what they see.
In the second verse, the singer continues to speak about wanting to see the world through the lens of the person he loves, and how their happiness can fill any gaps in his own life. He reiterates his desire to be a part of their love, to feel what they feel, and to be with them through thick and thin.
Overall, the song is a beautiful declaration of love, and the desire to bring happiness to the person you care for.
