Kunze was born on 30 November 1956 in the refugee camp Espelkamp near Minden. His family had been expelled from Guben (Niederlausitz, now partially Poland). His father, an officer for the Waffen-SS and long-time prisoner of war, had returned only in the same year.
In the 1980s, he rose to prominence as a singer. HRK, as he is often called, has also written books, and has translated musicals into German language.

Fair play
Heinz Rudolf Kunze Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Aber ohne Utopie,
Ist das ganze Leben keinen Herzschlag wert.
Auf dem langen Weg dorthin,
Offenbart sich doch ein Sinn:
Wer sich Tatenlos für mehr hält
lebt verkehrt.
Alte Feidschaft soll verdorrt sein,
Und ein Regelwerk das Keiner mehr verletzt.
It's got to be
Fair Play,
And we go all the way.
Creation is a concert
of the mind.
Yes it's
Fair Play,
for ever and a day.
Let's celebrate the treasure of mankind.
so reich.
And it's
Fair Play.
There ain't no other way.
But to joyn together,
peacefully and free.
Yes it's
Fair Play.
There's nothing more to say.
The rest is up to you
and up to me.
Fair Play.
Fair Play.
The way,
We go,
It's got to be,
Forever and a day.
Yes it's
Fair Play.
There ain't no other way.
But to joyn together,
peacefully and free.
Yes it's
Fair Play.
There's nothing more to say.
The rest is up to you
and up to me.
The rest is up to you
and up to me.
The rest is up to you
and up to me.
The song Fair Play by Heinz Rudolf Kunze highlights the importance of having a utopian vision and striving for a just and equitable society. The lyrics emphasize that although some goals may never be reached, the pursuit of those goals is what gives life meaning. Without a vision for a better future, life is meaningless. The song suggests that those who believe they are entitled to more without taking any action are living their lives the wrong way.
The lyrics also touch upon the need to let go of old feuds and embrace a new era of cooperation and understanding. The song celebrates the diversity of humanity and its differences while emphasizing the importance of treating each other fairly and justly. The goal is to create a world where everyone is respected, and there is no discrimination in any form.
Overall, Fair Play is a call to action for everyone to work together towards creating a world where justice and equity prevail. The song inspires individuals to take responsibility and work hard towards building a society for the common good, where differences are respected and celebrated.
