Medley 2000
Juliane Werding Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Was dich unglücklich macht
Geh nicht in die Stadt
Geh nicht in die Stadt heut Nacht
Geh nicht in die Stadt
Geh nicht in die Stadt heut Nacht
Unruhiger Blick, kalte Hand
The lyrics of Juliane Werding's Medley 2000 are a combination of various songs, with each part highlighting a different aspect of life. The song opens with the line "We were dreaming in the grass," which can be interpreted as a symbol of a carefree and innocent childhood. The repetition of "on the day" throughout the song shows that each part depicts a significant event or moment in life, such as the death of Conny Kramer, a dear friend, and the ground-breaking self-discovery of a woman.
The song talks about the human experience of feeling alone, vulnerable, and disconnected. In the second part of the song, the woman wakes up one morning, looks in the mirror, and doesn't recognize herself. This can represent an identity crisis or an inner struggle to find oneself. In the third part, the woman struggles with an unshakable feeling of desire but is aware that it is unattainable, and she must learn to live with it.
The song ends with a call to reflect on the past and honor those who have been there for us through thick and thin. The line "You always were there for me, always there for me" emphasizes the significance of being there for each other in life.

We were lying and dreaming in the grass
Am Tag... am Tag... am Tag... am Tag...
During the day
Am Tag... am Tag...
During the day
Am Tag... am Tag...
During the day
Als Conny Kramer starb
When Conny Kramer died
Und alle Glocken klangen
And all of the bells were ringing
Und alle Freunde weinten um ihn
And all of his friends were weeping for him
Das war ein schwerer Tag
That was a heavy day
Weil in mir eine Welt zerbrach
Because a world broke in me
Als sie in den Spiegel sah
When she looked in the mirror
Eines morgens, sonderbar
One morning, strangely
Da erkannte sie sich nicht
She didn't recognize herself
Sie wollte nie ein ,,Nein" akzeptiern
She never wanted to accept a "no"
Sie wollte nie die Neugier verliern
She never wanted to lose her curiosity
And she still saw herself driving in the convertible
Mit dem Wind im offenen Haar
With the wind in her hair
Uhh, Sehnsucht ist unheilbar
Uhh, yearning is incurable
Uhh, Sehnsucht ist unheilbar
Uhh, yearning is incurable
Wart nicht auf mich
Don't wait for me
Denn Sehnsucht ist unheilbar
Because yearning is incurable

Everything is just beginning
Die so zärtlich und so liebevoll sind
That are so tender and loving

Wozu hast du dich heute entschieden
What did you decide today
Ich fürchte, du hast etwas vor
I'm afraid you have something planned
Was dich unglücklich macht
That will make you unhappy
Geh nicht in die Stadt
Don't go to the city
Geh nicht in die Stadt heut Nacht
Don't go to the city tonight
Unruhiger Blick, kalte Hand
Restless gaze, cold hand
So hab ich dich nie gekannt

Du willst alles ändern, sagst du
You want to change everything, you say
In mir wächst ein Verdacht
A suspicion grows in me
Weißt du, wer ich war
Do you know who I was
Weißt du, wer ich bin
Do you know who I am
Bettler oder Königin

Weißt du, wer ich bin
Do you know who I am

@MBBikeTour
Doch!
@HROlauscher
