Kishore kumar>badi sooni sooni hai

Overall Meaning

Badi Sooni Sooni Hai is a heart-wrenching song sung by the legendary Kishore Kumar, which evokes feelings of loneliness and melancholy. The lyrics are powerful and deeply emotional, as they express the feelings of a person who is yearning for the company of his loved one. The song talks about the emptiness and hollowness that one feels when they are alone, and how there is no solace in anything once you have lost your love.

The opening lines of the song set the tone for the rest of the song, where he sings, "Badi sooni sooni hai zindagi, yeh zindagi, badi sooni sooni hai." The use of repetition emphasizes the feeling of loneliness and makes it more painful. The song talks about how one loses the meaning and purpose of their life once they have lost their love. The lyrics beautifully express how everything around you feels lifeless, and how there is no charm left in life.

The song also talks about how memories of the loved one keep haunting you even when they are gone. Kishore Kumar sings, "Pyar ki koi manzil nahi hai, suraj sa koi til nahi hai, yeh chaand sa roshan chehra, yeh aanchal saye ki tarah hai." This means that there is no destination for love, and there is nothing as small as a speck of dust, as compared to the warmth and brightness of love. The imagery used in the song is powerful, and it is guaranteed to tug at your heartstrings.

While recording this song, SD Burman the composer of this song was not present as he was in hospital because of heart attack. Kishore Da refused to record in his absense, but Barman Da told him that my heart and soul will be there with you at the studio and then the recording took place, but unfortunately Burman da passed away. 🙏🙏

Yes I've heard about this from Bhanu Gupta, my Dadu (mother's uncle/mama), who was a part of R.D Burman's musical orchestra (Spanish Guitar and Mouth organ).
