Born in Kisangani, Democratic Republic of Congo to a Congolese mother and Ghanaian father, Koffi grew up in Kinshasa.
He went to France to study, while in Paris, he began playing the guitar and writing songs. On his return to Congo he was a member of Viva la Musica, Papa Wemba's band. Koffi repopularized the slower style of soukous, which had fallen out of fashion. He dubbed this style Tcha Tcho, and it gained popularity outside Congo. Koffi's music can be quite controversial, taking on current events and topics considered taboo in some conservative societies. He has also participated in the salsa music project Africando.

Ayebisaki nga kombo na ye tendresse
Ayebisaki nga kombo na ye caresse
Butu tokutanaki,
Miroir de chevet, mon petit genre de secret
Motema ezua la paix bolingo etika kotungisa nga
Yeh!
(Si si si, fait moi ça!)
Si si si si, fait moi ça,
Si si si, dit moi oui
Si si si, fait moi la

The song "Si si si" by Koffi Olomide is a blend of French, Lingala, and Senegalese dialect lyrics. The term "distoni" repeated throughout the song means "dissonance" in Lingala, which could symbolize the confusion and chaos of relationships. The beginning of the song expresses the desire for tenderness and affection in a relationship, but the following lines highlight the chaos and lack of peace that surrounds it. The use of metaphors like "lumiere ezalaki se kongenga" (the light was like a flash) and "mon petit genre de secret" (my little secret) suggests the singer feels overwhelmed and conflicted in their relationship.
The Senegalese dialect lyrics introduce a chorus that exclaims "Si si si si, fait moi ça" (Yes, yes, yes, do it to me) as a plea for a partner to continue with their actions. This can be interpreted as the singer embracing the dissonance in their relationship, even if it causes them anxiety. The final lines of the song repeat "DiStoNi" followed by the chorus, perhaps suggesting a cycle or pattern of chaos and passion in the singer's relationships. Overall, "Si si si" explores the complexities of love and relationships, and the emotions that come with it.
