Achicados
Los Crudos Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Tenemos problemas, soluciones ignoradas
se nos cae todo, hasta el techo encima
Y Uds. que piensan? - Achicados!
negando la realidad - Achicados!
Los insultos me amargan
con las bocas cerradas
que podemos hacer?
No se queden callados - Achicados!
El silencio nos daña - Achicados
Los Crudos's song Achicados reflects a sense of disillusionment and frustration towards societal issues that have been ignored for long. The opening lines "Adonde fueron? Adonde estan?" ("Where have they gone? Where are they?") aim to point out the collective irresponsibility of the authorities and the people who have turned a blind eye to the problems that need immediate attention. The lyrics further emphasize that the problems are so severe that they have started to impact people's lives directly. "Se nos cae todo, hasta el techo encima" ("Everything is falling apart, even the roof above us") is a metaphor that signifies the gravity of the situation.
The song urges the listeners to think beyond their own selfish motives and take action. However, the following lines "Y Uds. que piensan? - Achicados!" ("And what do you think? - Cowed down!") convey the idea that people are scared to take a stand, disregarding the situation's criticality. The lyrics then refer to the pitfalls of remaining quiet and inactive. "No se queden callados - Achicados! El silencio nos daña - Achicados" ("Don't remain silent - Cowed down! Silence harms us - Cowed down!") suggests that being inactive is not a solution, and ignorance is not always bliss. The song encourages people to voice their opinion, even if they fear being insulted or ignored.
