Los Crudos Lyrics

No pueden oír nuestras voces, pero nunca dejamos de gritar
Y nos paramos a defender a mi gente y expresar nuestra manera de pensar
No somos esclavos de nadie
(We're not your wetbacks anymore)
Tenemos voces y manos, tenemos el poder y la energía
Y nos paramos a defender a mi gente y expresar nuestra manera de pensar
No somos esclavos de nadie
¡Nosotros somos los sin caras!
The lyrics of Los Crudos's song "Sin Caras" convey a powerful message about the experience of undocumented immigrants, particularly from the perspective of the Latinx community. The opening lines declare, "Nosotros somos los sin caras, no tenemos papeles ni derechos" which can be translated as "We are the faceless, we have no papers or rights." This emphasizes the lack of recognition and visibility that these individuals face in society due to their undocumented status. It speaks to the dehumanization and marginalization they endure, being denied fundamental rights and a place to belong.
The chorus, "No pueden oír nuestras voces, pero nunca dejamos de gritar" meaning "They can't hear our voices, but we never stop shouting," reflects a defiant refusal to be silenced. Despite being ignored or disregarded, they perseveringly express their demands and frustrations. Additionally, the lyrics advocate for solidarity within the community, standing up for their own people and expressing their thoughts and ideas.
The song encourages empowerment, emphasizing that while they may lack certain resources and channels of communication, they possess the power, energy, and desire to effect change in their circumstances. Through the lyrics, Los Crudos assert their refusal to be enslaved by anyone, rejecting any control or exploitation imposed upon them.
Overall, "Sin Caras" is an anthem for the voiceless and marginalized, reclaiming their agency and demanding recognition, rights, and respect.
