Sol e Chuva Casamento de Viúva
Martinho Da Vila Lyrics

Que saudade dá
Doce lembrança traz
Amarelou
Vermelhou lilás
Violetou
Esverdeou anil
Ventou, tempestade rolou
Fruta pelo chão caiu
Do cajueiro voou um Tiziu
E a molecada se espantou fugiu
Da moça bela que bravamente se zanga
Derrubaram seu balaio
De Cajá e Manga
Moça, deixa isso pra lá
Olha a ciranda, eu quero ver
Você cirandar
Pega na mão do menino
Entra na roda pra rodopiar
O peão, saiu da feira e bambeou
No chão, buscando o seu destino
Pulou na unha do bambino
E ziguezagueou
No eme da mão do menino
The lyrics of Martinho Da Vila's song "Sol e Chuva Casamento de Viúva" illustrate the contrasting elements of the sun and rain in a widow's wedding. The song begins by acknowledging the emotional impact of rain, as it brings back memories and longing. The colors mentioned, such as yellow, red, lilac, violet, green, and indigo, represent the vibrant spectrum created by the combination of sun and rain, symbolizing the beauty and diversity of life.
The lyrics then shift to the story of a young woman who is getting married. The reference to the grandmother's tales emphasizes the traditional and cultural significance of weddings. It also highlights the anticipation and excitement surrounding the young woman's special day. However, there is a touch of irony as the lyrics mention that she won't even receive the porcelain dishes that the grandmother had kept to gift her.
The song takes a playful turn when it references the wind and the storm. Fruits fall from trees, a Tiziu bird flies out of a cashew tree, and the children get scared and run away. The lyrics then encourage the young woman to let go of any frustration and join in the ciranda, a Brazilian dance, symbolizing joy, unity, and celebration. The metaphorical journey of the peão (a spinning top) reflects the unpredictable and uncertain nature of life, as it searches for its destiny and moves in zigzags.
Overall, the lyrics of "Sol e Chuva Casamento de Viúva" convey a sense of the cyclical nature of life, with its highs and lows, celebrations and challenges.
