1) Maxine Ella Brown (born 18 August 1939, in Kingstree, South Carolina) is an American soul singer.
She began singing as a child, performing with two New York based gospel groups when she was a teenager. In 1960, she signed with the small Nomar record label, who released the smooth soul ballad "All in My Mind" late in the year. The single became a hit, climbing to number two on the R&B charts (number 19 pop), and it was quickly followed by "Funny", which peaked at number three. Brown was poised to become a star, and she moved to ABC-Paramount in 1962, but left the label within a year and signed to the New York based, uptown soul label, Wand, in 1963.
Brown recorded her best work at Wand, having a string of moderate hits for the label over the next three years. Among these were the Carole King / Gerry Goffin song "Oh No Not My Baby", which reached number 24 on the pop charts; "It's Gonna Be Alright"; and several duets with Chuck Jackson. However, the label focused much of their attention on Dionne Warwick, leaving Maxine Brown to toil in semi-obscurity.
In 1969, she left Wand and signed first with Commonwealth United and then Avco Records, but her later recordings met with little commercial success. Despite her lack of hits, Brown is acknowledged as one of the finest R&B vocalists of her time, capable of delivering soul, jazz, and pop with equal aplomb.
2) Maxine Brown (April 27, 1931 – January 21, 2019) was an American country music singer who was originally a member of the successful 1950s trio the Browns, before a brief solo career.

1961.....I think that you don't care,
And it's more than I can bear,
I don't know baby,
Maybe it's all in my mind, all in my mind.
I know that I've been true,
But honey sweetie baby what about you?
I don't know baby,
Maybe it's all in my mind.
Weve been going steady so long,
I'd never dream you would ever do me wrong,
I knew I was yours and I thought you were mine,
And that every little thing was so fine.
Whoa darling I'd hate to see,
Someone else with you other than me,
I don't know baby,
Maybe it's all in my mind,
All in mind,
Oh, hum, hum,
Oh yes, it's all in my mind.
I don't mean to think so mean and evil baby,
Please tell me, tell me
It's all in my mind......1961

I'm so thankful that I was a teenager during this era of music. I was a senior in high school when this one hit the charts. I sang along with Maxine Brown as it played on the radio and danced to it as it played on the Jukebox at the Juke Joints..Sweet memories...

I was a teenager too when this came out; but I don't remember it. Searching through Maxine's other hits, I still say this is her #1. The drag in her voice, amplifies the doubt; and the "honey, sweetie, baby line tosses it back as an accusation. Brilliant interpretation of lyrics
