Voyage
Moustaki Georges Lyrics

Qui me fera trouver de l'or.
In Moustaki Georges's song "Voyage," the singer is expressing his desire for adventure and escape from his mundane existence. He is lying next to a girl with golden hair who wraps him up like a spider in its web. The imagery of the spider and its web connotes a sense of captivity and entrapment, which the singer wishes to escape from. He calls upon his guiding star to lead him to the north, away from this place.
The boats in the harbor are still, exhausted from their long journeys at sea. The singer, however, calls upon the wind to take him away from the shore and onto his own journey. The night melts away into the dawn, revealing the ephemeral nature of the singer's dreams. He appeals to the desert of sand to find gold, a metaphor for his own search for meaning and worth.
The singer fully intends to leave behind his body and soul, following his insatiable desires. He calls upon both God and Devil to let him find death. In the end, he returns to the girl with the golden hair, perhaps seeking comfort or an acknowledgment of the futility of his adventure.
