Des siècles passés
Deux cœurs étrangers
Que tout a changé
Découvrent l'amour
Et le temps s'arrête
Figé de bonheur
Deux âmes en fleur
La Belle et la Bête
Tout est différent
Et pourtant pareil
Quand le cœur s'éveille
Aux couleurs vermeil
D'un soleil naissant
Tout est différent
Et pourtant pareil
Quand le cœur s'éveille
Aux couleurs vermeil
D'un soleil naissant
Conte de l'enfance
Vieux comme un refrain
Répétant sans fin
J'ai mis dans mon vin
L'eau de l'évidence
Les rêves s'apprêtent (les rêves s'apprêtent)
À commencer là
Où, pour toi et moi
Il était une fois
La Belle et la Bête
Pour toi et pour moi
Il était une fois
La Belle et la Bête
La Belle et la Bête
These lyrics are from the song "La Belle Et La Bête" by Patrick Fiori and Julie Zenatti. The song is based on the classic fairy tale story of Beauty and the Beast.
In the first verse, it talks about a timeless tale from centuries ago where two strangers with different hearts suddenly discover love and everything changes. It emphasizes how love can bring about a transformative experience in people's lives. The phrase "Découvrent l'amour" signifies the moment when they both realize their feelings for each other.
The next lines describe how time seems to stop and freeze in a moment of both happiness and fear. The characters, Belle and Beast, are depicted as young and innocent souls experiencing the beauty and terror of falling in love. This exemplifies the dichotomy of emotions that come with such a powerful connection.
The chorus repeats the idea that everything is different yet somehow the same. It expresses the paradox of how love can simultaneously change our perspective on life while also making us feel a sense of familiarity and comfort. The "couleurs vermeil," or crimson colors of a sunrise, signify the awakening of their hearts to the passion and joy of love.
In the third verse, the lyrics refer to the tale as an old childhood song, repeatedly recited over time. It reflects on the enduring nature of the story and how it often conveys a deeper truth or message. The phrase "J'ai mis dans mon vin l'eau de l'évidence" suggests that the singer has added an undeniable clarity or truth to their understanding by embracing the story's essence.
The song concludes with the idea that dreams are preparing themselves to start over, beginning where the tale of Beauty and the Beast once existed. This signifies the hope and possibility that love can bring, as well as the belief in the power of storytelling and its ability to inspire and shape our lives. The repetition of "Pour toi et pour moi, Il était une fois La Belle et la Bête" emphasizes the universal nature of the story and how it resonates with everyone.
