Reaching all the way back to Bob Dylan and the Band's pioneering blend of mythic Americana and shaggy rock & roll, alongside more recent points of comparison like Built to Spill, Modest Mouse, and My Morning Jacket, Roy (a band, not a dude) blend spiky post-Pavement indie rock with folk and country influences for a sound that's connected to the musical past but not beholden to it. For over a decade, singer and guitarist Brian Cook and drummer Dave Verellen were the mainstays of Botch, a Seattle post-hardcore act specializing in heavy riffs and showy time-signature shifts. Roy began as a side project in 2002, bringing Cook and Verellen together with singer and guitarist Ben Verellen and bassist Mike Cooper. Naming themselves after the small rural town near Tacoma, Roy debuted with 2003's Tacomatose EP, followed by 2004's Big City Sin and Small Town Redemption. Though Roy toured extensively behind their two records, the band went on a temporary hiatus while Cook and Ben Verellen turned their focus to another side project, the more Botch-like heavy math rockers These Arms Are Snakes. Roy reconvened in 2005 to write and record their second full-length album, Killed John Train, which was released by Lujo Records in the spring of 2006.

It's one thing for someone say they have strong hands and a nack at taking the tyre of in the comfort of your home with just your hands. But if you're out in the wet, cold, dark weather it's another thing. Your strength and dexterity is dramatically reduced. Having this tool is a god send to every cyclist by the road side with a flat. Who doesn't want to get back on the bike in under a minute? It's so bloomin fast to change with the tyre glider. I love it!

I bought two of these Tyre Gliders in the last two weeks (one for a friend) It is an amazing tool. I'm using it on Marathon Plus tyres on both a Brompton wheel and my 26" wheel road bike. It's very fast, easy, light, small and surprisingly strong. I will not go out without it now. A few drips of soap solution makes it whizz. Brilliant and many thanks Kevin. RayC

I used this to take off some gatorskins, needed this and one tyre lever to get them off. But just the tyre glider to put on some green guard marathons. The piece that goes under the tyre needs to be wider and this will give a larger platform to push against. All in all very pleased with it. Thanks Roy.

No sooner has I received mine, than I got a puncture.
With this tool, I took the tyre off in about 15 seconds.

Brillant tool, like my chepo Aldi repair stand it's not that I can't imagine how I managed without it, but I see no reason why I would ever want to.
I would love to see a shop tool of the "tyre on" part, based on the same principle but with a big freely rotating knob that sits 90 degrees to the rim (like those things forklift trucks have on the steering wheel) for doing the first install of brand new tyres.

Not had chance to try mine yet, since it came been working stupid hours, this coming week is going to be 62 hours minimum over 6 days, no time to even rest and relax as, got uniform to wash and iron, ready for the next week.

I'd really like to have one and I hope he succeeds wildly! I'm in USA so it could be some time until they become widely available. I have a loose fitting tire/rim combination and a strong grip but would carry it to assist others. The details do matter as for example Park tools levers don't work well for me, but no brand cheepo does! Anything to make things easier in bad conditions would be welcome. Sell on Amazon please.

Just ordered….. I’m not looking forward to taking my triban wheel combo off… but let’s see how it works !! Do I doubt it… yes.

Tribans are immovable.. however this lever would work fine on the other wheel sets.

Is £13 too much… it’s an ok price… if it get the wheels off the triban… it’s worth in excess of £100+… as that’s what I’ve spent on other levers and torn inners.

I've ordered one and have tried it on my triban wheelset. It took me less than a minute to remove and install the tyres. Compared to two days (needed a break to rest my sore thumbs and hands) when using normal tyre levers + tyre clamp before. This glider is amazing.

The sound on this video is very poor/quiet compared to others and the ads! Not a big deal but nevertheless very irritating to a retired audio engineer like myself. (you need to face the mic and use a compressor)

Both of those things were done, as I always do, and audio was normalised in the edit. Thanks for letting me know, I will look into what was wrong. I can only assume it was something YouTube has done. This was the first one where I’ve recorded a Zoom call, which I did in OBS. I did have to sync the audio to the video due to the delay, but that shouldn’t have affected the sound level. It is a big deal to me as I spend a lot of time on the edit but until YT processes it you never know how the balance with ads will be. The intro and outro were done with a Lav mic, which looking at it could have been closer, and the interview was on the boom mic which was about 6 inches away. As I said, thanks for the comment.

Update. I’ve checked the stats on this one and YouTube have applied a much lower sound than the upload level, and the ads much louder. To compensate for this I’ve removed advertising, so it will be more consistent. Thanks again for letting me know 👍

@@RideWithRoy It's still all about 6 -10dB less than other vids (9:45am) . The intro and outro have a lot of room sound. Are you sure the lav was switched on? it sounds to me like it was recorded on the mic behind you.

Yes, it was definitely on as I control the camera through voice control. Having said that, if the Lav wasn’t fully plugged in the camera would have responded to voice through the camera mic and recorded through that. I know what you mean about the room sound, so maybe that’s it. At least removing the ads will help, but I may record the intro and outro again and re upload.
