Gutunei Koblak
Ruper Ordorika Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Gutunik gabe astelehena iragan zen
nahiko triste.
Astearte, asteazkena, ez nuen izan
albiste.

Ostegunean, ostiralean, larunbatean, igandez,
ez da gutunik batere iritsi ez egunez
eta ez gauez.

Arorik aro doa denbora, ez du lehen ez
azkenik.
Galderak egin nituen baina, ez dut jaso
erantzunik.

Udazkenean aldegin eta, udaberrian
itzuli,
nork daki nondik nora doazen, hainbeste
txori migrari.

Ustekabeko txori migrari, iritsi dira
gutunak.
Iazko galdera haientzako, heldu dira
erantzunak.

Baina berritu dira aroak eta zahartu
galderak.
Gutuna iritsi baino lehenago erantzun ditu
denborak.

Orain galdera berriak ditut, hegats arinez
hor doaz.

Hurrengo urtaroarekin ea, itzultzen diren
menturaz.

Overall Meaning

The song "Gutunei Koblak" by Ruper Ordorika speaks about the passage of time and the unending cycle of life. The first stanza speaks of the passing of a Monday, which was quite sad. The next two days, Tuesday and Wednesday, went by uneventfully, without any news. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday also went by without any significant event, neither during the day nor at night.

The second stanza speaks about the fluidity of time, as it never stays still, moving forward without any beginning or end. And although the singer has asked questions in the past, no answers have been received. He has gone through the autumn and returned in the spring, wondering where the numerous migratory birds go.

The third and final stanza speaks of the arrival of those migratory birds, with answers to last year's questions. Nevertheless, time has reset itself, and the questions have aged. Time has replied before the letter arrived. The singer now has new questions, and they seem to fly with the wind. He wonders if the answers will come with the next term.

Overall, the song's lyrics evoke a feeling of melancholy and the passage of time, as the singer reflects on the cyclical nature of life and the longing for answers that may never come.
