Read Full Bio ↴Ukrainian band formed by Andrey "Sun" Zaporozhets, ex-5'nizza member.
The story behind the project is short yet compelling!
After the break-up of legendary 5'nizza duo, the half of it (Andrey, that would be) took over the material being prepared for the third (unreleased after all) album and called a couple of friends known from previous musical collaborations. With a mixture of varied experiences and vast inspirations, they started to play fresh tunes (of recognizable style, though) under the name of SunSay. Now that their debut self-titled album's out (Moon Records, 2007) and they play concerts all over Europe, SunSay's winning both fans' hearts and critics' appreciation.
Band Members: Andrey Zaporozhets (Sun) - Vocal, Vyacheslav Semenchenko (Fame) - Vocal, BeatBox, Roman Kucherenko - Bass, Sergey Balalaev - Drums, Ephim Chupahin - Keyboards, Sergey Klevenskiy - Winds, Igor Sirodzha -Guitars

А-а-а, а-а-а, а-а-а...
The lyrics of SUNSAY's song "Милая" convey a sense of longing and incompleteness in a relationship that seems to have lost its way. The lines "I'm in you, and you're in me / Random guests, not accidental / In an invisible war / The autumn sky / Will ask us / There's no saving strength / Question from the answer / Grow in the dark / Impossible without light" suggest that the two people in the song are intertwined in some way, but they are struggling to make their connection work in the face of challenges and difficulties.
The imagery of the rain and the winds in the lines "Where I walk, there's rain / They fell / Was it necessary? / The bad winds burned / Wet eyes / Important to say / About you / With my own words / Connect night and day / Heights with lows" provides a stark contrast to the overall feeling of warmth and intimacy conveyed by the song. It suggests that external forces are conspiring to keep the two people apart, but at the same time, there is a sense that they are determined to stay connected, no matter what.
The repeated refrain of "Милая" ("my dear" or "my darling" in Russian) seems to express an underlying sadness and frustration that the relationship has not lived up to their expectations. The lines "Days, weeks, ships / Angels, somewhere the planet is circling / The dream melted - we left / In different ways, different paths" suggest that the two people have moved on from each other, but they still hold an affectionate memory of what could have been.
