2. Unicorn was a progressive melodic rock band from Sweden, fronted by Dan Swanö (Bloodbath, Edge of Sanity, Nightingale). They released two full-length albums (Emotional Wasteland and Ever Since), two EPs (After Before and The Weirdest of Tales), and two demos (A Collection of Worlds I and A Collection of Worlds II).
The band's style was a far cry from the brutal death metal Swano would later become known for. (Swano formed Unicorn as a young teen.) Unicorn is a very melodic, light progressive band. Nightingale comes closest to their style, though even Nightingale is much heavier.
Swano is currently working on a new project called Second Sky. He says Second Sky is the new Unicorn. An album is expected in 2009.
3. Unicorn (ユニコーン) is a Japanese band fronted by Okuda Tamio(奥田民生), active in the 80s and early 90s. During that time the band released eight albums and nine singles. The band reunited in 2009.

家
Unicorn Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
These lyrics describe a situation where officials from the government office appear and have a conversation with the singer's father. They discuss how their house is becoming an inconvenience and that with its removal, the road will become wider, benefiting the town. Despite the singer acknowledging that this is for the betterment of the community, they express feelings of uncertainty and nostalgia towards their old home. They speculate on the color it used to be and consider whether it is better to discard it since it is in a dilapidated state. However, regardless of these circumstances, they emphasize that their house will become new.
The mention of the house becoming new suggests that it will undergo renovations and transformation. It also hints at the idea that the home represents a part of the singer's identity and history. They wonder about its past and struggle with the decision of whether to discard it like everyone else seems to suggest. However, the repeated assertion that their house will become new highlights a sense of resilience and adaptability.
In the second paragraph, the lyrics continue to emphasize the impending transformation of the house. The mention of furniture like chairs, tables, pillars, and walls being new indicates that not only the physical structure will change, but also its contents. The lyrics suggest that the house will exist beneath the asphalt in an unfamiliar place. The singer expresses a sense of discomfort with this unfamiliarity, highlighting their unease with the unknown.
The final line of this paragraph adds an interesting perspective. The reference to the unfamiliar door being strong and made of concrete implies that even though the new house may seem foreign, it has the potential to withstand challenges and endure. This could symbolize the singer's hope that despite the changes, their home will provide stability and protection.
Overall, these lyrics seem to reflect the mixed emotions that arise when facing the prospect of a home undergoing transformation. While recognizing the benefits for the community, the singer grapples with nostalgia and uncertainty. They express their attachment to the old house, wondering about its history, and contemplate the consequences of letting it go. However, amidst these conflicting feelings, there is also a sense of resilience and belief in the potential for the new house to provide strength and stability in an unfamiliar environment.
