You're Gonna Miss Me
13th Floor Elevators Lyrics

Oh yeah
Ah
You're gonna wake up one morning as the sun greets the dawn
You're gonna wake up one morning as the sun greets the dawn
You're gonna look around in your mind, girl, you're gonna find that
I'm gone
You didn't realize
You didn't realize
You didn't realize
You didn't realize
You didn't realize
Oh, you're gonna miss me, baby
Oh, you're gonna miss me, baby
Oh, you're gonna miss me, child, yeah, yeah
I gave you the warning
But you never heeded it
How can you say you miss my lovin'
When you never needed it?
Yeah, yeah, ow
You're gonna wake up wonderin'
Find yourself all alone
But what's gonna stop me, baby?
I'm not comin' home
I'm not comin' home
I'm not comin' home
Oh, oh, oh, yeah
Oh, oh, oh, yeah

One of the greatest garage rock bands ever. The 13th Floor Elevators was an American rock band from Austin, Texas. Formed by guitarist and vocalist Roky Erickson, electric jug player Tommy Hall, and guitarist Stacy Sutherland. The band was together from 1965 to 1969, and during that period released four albums and seven singles for the International Artists record label.

This is one of the greatest Garage/Psych tunes -- ever. This is bruisin' from cue up to the end. This tune should have gone to the soundtrack of "The Wild Angels." I've got some great memories associated with this tune. Thanks, Yam, for posting this.

I have some good but rather blurry memories of the Elevators. They rocked hard. I still have 2 of their vinyl albums. Roky's screech in this song is sooo classic. They are the true epitome of a psychadelic band. And it needs to be said... Yes, I miss you! 😁

Absolute killer classic 👌

Strickly 60's

Hi All Garage Tune Lovers.
I wholeheartedly have to agree that this song rates in the Top 5 Greatest Rocking Garage Tunes Of All Time.
Up in Canada (Toronto) I don't think that this song was ever on the radio back in the 60's. I am Very Grateful for the invention of The Web and You Tube. Thank you. -"Strickly" 60's
