Cê Tá Pensando Que Eu Sou Loki?
Arnaldo Baptista Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Sou malandro velho
Não tenho nada com isso
A gente andou
A gente queimou
Cê tá pensando que eu sou loki, bicho?
So malandro velho
Não se mete no enguiço
These lyrics are from the well-known Brazilian psychedelic rock musician Arnaldo Baptista's song "Cê Tá Pensando Que Eu Sou Loki?" released in 1974. He addresses the listener 'Você' verbally and asks whether they think he is crazy (loki). Arnaldo says he is not the one to be labelled like that, as he is an old hustler who has no business with it. The following verses talk about his wild past experiences, where he and a group of people they were not afraid to indulge and play around. They would travel, party, and take Cilibrina - a stimulant drug, to have fun. Arnaldo affirms that although he is old, he still loves to travel and do thrilling things in life.
Arnaldo speaks candidly in the song about his reputation as the "loki" one, who is outrageous and out of control. He wants people to know that he may have indulged in lots of risky behaviors in the past, but that does not define him. He still relishes life and everything in it despite his age. Arnaldo assures the listener that he is still a hustler and will not get into any trouble regardless of what people may think of him.
