The Logical Song
Supertramp Lyrics

When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful
A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical
And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily
Oh joyfully, playfully watching me
But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible
Logical, oh responsible, practical
And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable
Oh clinical, oh intellectual, cynical

There are times when all the world's asleep
The questions run too deep
For such a simple man
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd
Please tell me who I am

I said, watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical
Liberal, oh fanatical, criminal
Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're acceptable
Respectable, oh presentable, a vegetable
Oh, take it take it yeah

But at night, when all the world's asleep
The questions run so deep
For such a simple man
Won't you please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd
Please tell me who I am, who I am, who I am, who I am
'Cause I was feeling so logical
D-d-digital
One, two, three, five
Oh, oh, oh, oh
It's getting unbelievable

Letra:

¿No registras tu nombre?

D-d-digital
Uno, dos, tres, cinco
Oh oh oh oh
Se está volviendo increíble

@Steve Hi Steve, what youre saying is nonesense, You cannot be a leftist and be pro-capitalist all leftists are socialists, because socialism is just the umbrella term to define our positions. I know many people attribute things to socialism and explain it as a specific ideology, but it's not, it's just an umbrella term for popular control, and there are many factions inside it if you want to articulate a specific position. You can have socialism with markets for example.

Making an appeal to nature is not a good arguement for nor against capitalism or communism, such appeals are unhelpful.

Marxism is not a system is just a way of thinking, a philsophy, a lens with which to analyse socioeconomics. Again you are making an appeal to human nature and this is fallacious, Marx advocated communism and in Marx's definition of communist the rich would not exist and society would trascend the need for money. Communism is an ideology in reaching a moneyless, classless state.

We are in a capitalist society Steve, 'capitalism' and 'corpratism' are not mutually exclusive things, Capitalism becomes corporatism as corporate interests invade government. The core problem of capitalism is the inequality of power that it creates between the working class and the owning class. The state in capitalism is utterly beholden to the need to maintain a favourable investment climate for business.

Steve, Antifa and BLM are not the violent orgs you've been told they are, Antifa and BLM have not killed anybody, right-wing terrorism on the other hand is the single biggest terrorist threat in the US and has a body count in the hundreds, Police officers in the US kill thousands of people a year. Leftists are not silencing anyone, we couldn't and we don't want to. MRAs (I'm assuiming you mean the misogynist dickheads) are not being silenced, they are being protested, which is excercising our rights to freedom of speech.

I don't see any issue with choosing my ideology? Neutral over what? people of colour being killed? Discrimination against the working class? LGBTQ people having a right to exist? As a bisexual person I don't have the luxury of staying quiet on such an issue, my existence is non-negotiable and I will aggressively pursue my rights and the rights of all my queer fellows, I refuse to compromise or 'be neutral' on that topic

Steve

@Kranku You can definitely be left wing and Pro-Capitalist. Not sure what planet you live on but it's not Earth.

You might as well say "Communism has never been done correctly", but that logic itself is faulty. You could say "Capitalism is fine, it's just never been done correctly". The problem with Communism is that humans aren't perfect, and always carry Bias, regardless of which side they are on.

Even if you do get a Marxist system in play, the people who control it have all the money, and if you think the people in power would share the wealth equally, you have no understanding of how evil human nature really is.

That said, we haven't been in a Capitalist Society for a long time now; it's always been Corporatism, which is something I'd expect Antifa, BLM, etc. to be fighting, and yet instead, they harass people in Restaurants, who have no power, who only work for a living. Or worse yet, local business owners trying desperately to make a living, only to be looted and destroyed.

How depressing. This songs lyrics ring true for Society, but "liberal" is replaced with "conservative" these days. I mean somehow tradition is bad but burning houses down is completely okay.

Also, the left-wing side has been completely silencing people -- if you ever actually see an MRA gathering (just as example) it's immediately shutdown, protested, whatever.

If you really cared about people, you wouldn't pick a side and stick with it. You'd be neutral, and a lot less aggressive.

Depression and sadness aren't the same thing. Nowadays everyone thinks they're depressed. They want to special or think they have it worse than others. Actual Depression is where somebody stops leaving the house boards themselves up their house and talks to nobody and slowly dies mentally then kills themselves. It makes me immeasurably angry that the world has turned to what it is. The world is to soft. You may say no that's racist, homiphobic, etc. I have heard it all. Nope. The world was for all intensive purposes the same except for the past roughly 40 years

You can always play Lonesome Loser, Take The Long Way Home, Goodbye Stranger, What A Fool Believes, Blow Away, Hearts Hotel, most any song off Pink Floyd The Wall, lots of songs that year that deal with heartbreak, depression and slow healing,
