He is best known for his work for developer Squaresoft (now Square Enix), having composed the scores for their role-playing video games Chrono Trigger (1995), its sequel Chrono Cross (1999), and Xenogears (1998). A self-affirmed minimalist, Mitsuda's influences include jazz, classical, and Asian (Indian and Japanese) ethnic music.
Born in Tokuyama, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, Mitsuda began studying the piano at the age of five. By chance, he noticed a job advertisement for sound production for Squaresoft in an issue of Famitsu; despite a self-described "disastrous" interview with Squaresoft head composer 植松伸夫, in which he admitted he considered the job only a stepping stone to further his career and that he had never played Square's most famous games, such as Final Fantasy, executives were sufficiently impressed with his demo that he was hired as sound staff in 1992.
The release of Chrono Cross marked the beginning of his career as a freelance artist, which he continues to be, releasing both video game soundtracks and other original works under his own label, Procyon Studio. Other famous works of Mitsuda's include Mario Party, the Shadow Hearts series, and Xenosaga, a spiritual successor to Xenogears.

Julio is right the extended version is a little over two minuets long it actually plays in the game...it's been a while so bear with me I can't remember if it's disc 2 or 3 but there's a scene where elly? Is surrounded in flames the song is playing...it's fairly long for a cutscenes and the scene actually ends before the whole song finishes you got most of it in there but some of it feels looped and a little slowed with some added bells in the background don't get me wrong it's a beautiful remix great work!

it also play when Elly is getting the shakes from the drive drug and then feis robot Welltall hugs her robot, and he gets out of the cockpit and grabs her and hugs her untill the shakes are over. If u dont press the X or circle button, u can listen to it nonstop.

without love it cannot be seen
I unironically cried. Thank you!

the song actually has a longer version with diferent parts if you listen to it during game drama scenes and do NOT hurry it up with the controller button. I used to have a MIDI of it but never found it again.
