The lyrics of Asha Bhosle's song "Devroop Hovoo Sagale" celebrate the oneness of all beings and the diversity that is found within it. The opening lines of the song, which repeat throughout, urge everyone to become different forms of the same divine energy. The song then proceeds to explore how this energy is found within all aspects of life, from the power of the seven seas to the unity of all living beings. The lyrics encourage listeners to focus on their inner selves, to cultivate love and empathy towards others, and to push aside prejudice and animosity.
The song also highlights the transient nature of life and the inevitability of death. The stanza about birds and their wings represents the fragility of life, reminding listeners that all creatures are subject to mortality. The final stanza of the song urges listeners to look beyond the ties that bind them to societal roles and status and embrace their true selves. Overall, the song urges listeners to see the divine within everyone and to strive towards harmony and empathy.
