The song "Vithal Rakhumai Pari" by Asha Bhosle is a devotional hymn dedicated to Lord Vitthal, a form of Lord Krishna who is worshipped primarily by the devotees of Maharashtra. The song starts by addressing Vithal and Rakhumai, who are worshipped as parents by the singer. She expresses her desire to go to Pandharpur, the sacred town in Maharashtra where the temple of Lord Vitthal is located, and seeks their blessings for the same.
In the second stanza, the singer describes her faith in Lord Shiva, who is believed to reside in the Himalayas. She prays that he does not fall prey to the poison that once enveloped him and that he continues to inspire his devotees with his teachings. She then refers to Pundalik, a devotee of Lord Vitthal, who is believed to have called upon the Lord to come to him while he was serving his parents. The singer seeks to follow the same path and always remain close to the divine.
In the final stanza, the singer refers to the arrival of Lord Vitthal in her life, which has brought joy and peace, symbolized by the seven seas. She describes the Lord as the embodiment of affection and divinity, who has appeared for her sake. She adorns herself with his garland and seeks his blessings.
Overall, the song talks about the singer's deep devotion to Lord Vitthal and her desire to remain close to him always, seeking his blessings and guidance.
