The song "Yeh Hai Reshmi Zulfon Ka Andhera" sung by Asha Bhosle is an ode to a lover. The lyrics ask the lover to not be afraid of the darkness of the silky tresses as long as the scent of the singer's hair lingers. The song begins with reassurance to not worry about the darkness of the hair, instead inviting the lover to come closer and bask in the scent.
The second half of the song brings in a sense of longing and desire as the singer confesses that her eyes are thirsty and the night is not staying for long. The singer requests the lover to stay in her heart as a cherished desire. The lyrics draw a beautiful imagery of the night sky, where candles fight against the darkness, and the singer compares the flames to fireflies.
Overall, the lyrics are romantic, and it is a beautiful song to listen to if someone is in love or wants to remember a beautiful love story. The music, predominantly Indian classical, is magical and soothing. The song has a timeless appeal and is still popular among music lovers worldwide.
