Attaque 77 Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
no me hundas en tu envidia no me quiero ahogar
muchos en la indiferencia precisan tu atención
no seas hipócrita por verme en este lugar
no soy mejor, no soy peor ni especial.
Ilusiones, frustraciones, ser o no de verdad
fanatismos, religiones, tu tendencia ideal.
Tus sermones combativos agonizan igual
que te compró tu mamá.
Es fácil convertirte en lo que criticas
buscando tu verdad, cuál verdad?
No hay más vueltas, no me sigas
yo no se donde voy,
no me mires, no me imites
The lyrics to Attaque 77's song "Mensaje" address the issue of individuals being put on a pedestal and marked as different or superior. The singer warns against becoming too high-reaching, as this can lead to drowning under the weight of envy and criticism. They also note the prevalence of indifference in society and urge individuals to pay attention to those who are often overlooked. The singer rejects being labeled as better or worse than others or as being special, highlighting the universal human experience of illusions and frustrations. They call out combativeness, religious fanaticism, and a tendency to idealize certain beliefs, noting that these attitudes can destroy just as easily as the revolutionaries and idealists who die for their causes.
Furthermore, the singer rejects the idea of a rational human being as being an old synonym for egoism and the universal scourge. They urge individuals not to copy or imitate them or hold them responsible for others' actions. The singer states that they are neither Jesus nor God and should not be held to these standards. The song, overall, can be seen as a warning against the dangers of hero-worship and undue reverence towards individuals, as well as a call for individuals to reject the pressures to conform or fit a certain mold.
