By the age of six Calogero had already taken an interest in music. He quickly learned to play several instruments, including the flute, piano and bass, and in 1986 became the lead singer and song-writer for the band Charts. He started it together with his brother, Gioacchino, and a childhood friend, Francis Maggiulli. Between 1989 and 1997, "Charts" released 5 albums : "L'océan sans fond" (1989), "Notre monde à nous" (1991), "Hannibal" (1994), "Acte 1" (1995), and "Changer" (1997).
As the band began to lose its momentum, Calogero decided to launch himself as a solo artist and gathered important connections by writing songs and collaborating with already popular artists, such as Zazie and Pascal Obispo. The latter helped produce Calogero's first solo album Au milieu des autres (2000). His second album, Calogero (2002) was a huge success with the hit singles "En apesanteur", "Aussi libre que moi", "Tien an men" and "Prendre racine". Finally, in 2004, Calogero released .calog3ro, containing "Face à la mer", a duet with French rapper Passi, and several other top singles such as "Yalla" and "Si seulement je pouvais lui manquer".
Calogero's moving lyrics and frail, tender voice have made him one of France's top pop/rock singers.
Une Dernière Chance

Tourner les talons
Nous fâcher pour un oui
Pour un non...
M'excuser du peu
Fixer l'horizon
Voir surgir de la nuit
Par légions
Nos démons
Jeter la pierre
Croiser le fer
C'est une guerre perdue
D'avance
Comment refaire
Machine arrière ?
M'accorderas-tu
Une autre chance ?
Dégager les lieux
Sans rime ni raison
Faire semblant de connaître
La chanson
Engager le feu
Griller pour de bon
Les cartouches qui nous restent
Attention
Où va-t-on ?
A quoi bon...
Jeter la pierre
Croiser le fer
Pour une guerre perdue
D'avance
Comment refaire
Machine arrière ?
M'accorderas-tu
Une autre chance ?
Une dernière chance...
Aie confiance.
Aimons-nous encore
Dis-toi qu'au fond
Aucun de nous n'a tort
Ni raison...
The lyrics of Calogero's song Une Dernière Chance explore the idea of reconciliation and the desire to start fresh in a relationship that may have faced some turbulence. The opening lines set the stage for the angst and conflict that the singer has been experiencing in his relationship. He talks about the need to step back and move away from the game of arguments and misunderstandings that the couple has been engaging in. The lines "Nous fâcher pour un oui pour un non" highlight the trivial reasons that can set off a row between two people in love.
As the song progresses, Calogero expresses remorse for his role in the fight and wishes for a second chance to make things right. He contemplates the prospect of starting anew but laments his inability to turn back time and undo the damage done. The lyrics "Comment refaire Machine arrière?" are an acknowledgment of the intractability of the situation and the impossibility of returning to a time before the relationship hit a rough patch.
The chorus is the plea for the last chance to work things out, and the singer asks the other person to trust him and give them one more opportunity to try to make things work. The final lines of the song, "Aimons-nous encore Dis-toi qu'au fond Aucun de nous n'a tort Ni raison," underscore the fact that ultimately, there are no winners or losers in love, and both parties need to take responsibility and work towards a resolution that benefits both.
