Before the Storm
Jonas Brothers Lyrics

Whoa
I know this isn't what I wanted
I never thought it'd come this far
Just thinking back to where we started
And how we lost all that we are
But I could see it's not the same
I'm standing here but you don't see me
Give it all for that to change
And I don't want to lose her
Don't wanna let her go
Standing out in the rain
Need to know if it's over
'Cause I will leave you alone
Flooded with all this pain
Knowing that I'll never hold her
Like I did before the storm
Yeah
Before the storm
With every strike of lightening
Comes a memory that lasts
And not a word is left unspoken
As the thunder starts to crash
And maybe I should give up
Standing out in the rain
Need to know if it's over
'Cause I would leave you alone
Flooded with all this pain
Knowing that I'll never hold her
Like I did before the storm
Trying to keep the light from going out
And the clouds were ripping out my broken heart
They always say a heart is not a home
Without the one who gets you through the storm
Standing out in the rain
Knowing that it's really over
Please don't leave me alone
I'm flooded with all this pain
Knowing that I'll never hold ya
Like I did before the storm
Yeah
Like I did before the storm

I never thought it'd come this far
I didn't anticipate things getting to this point
Just thinking back to where we started
Recalling the beginning of our relationship
And how we lost all that we are
Reflecting on how we have drifted apart
We were young and times were easy
The early days of our relationship were carefree
But I could see it's not the same
However, things have changed now
I'm standing here but you don't see me
Feeling like I am invisible to you
Give it all for that to change
Willing to do everything to make things right between us
I don't want
I am not willing
To lose her
To let go of the person I love
Don't let her go
Hoping against hope that things work out between us
Standing out in the rain
Physically and emotionally exposed
Need to know if it's over
Desperately seeking clarity on the state of our relationship
Cause I would leave you alone
Ready to exit your life if things have ended between us
Flooded with all this pain
Feeling overwhelmed with emotions of sadness and grief
Knowing that I'll never hold her
Realizing that things may never be the same again
Like I did before the storm
Missing the good times we had before things fell apart
With every strike of lightening
Every negative experience
Comes a memory that lasts
Triggers a long-lasting memory
And not a word is left unspoken
Every detail has been discussed and nothing is left unsaid
As a thunder starts to crash
As the situation deteriorates further
Maybe I should give up
Considering giving up on our relationship
Trying to keep
Struggling to maintain
The light from going out
Holding onto hope
And the clouds were ripping out my broken heart
Feeling devastated and heartbroken
They always say
People often say
A heart is not a home
One's heart cannot be complete without someone to share it with
Without the one who gets you through the storm
Without the person who supports and comforts you during tough times
