Si tú me odias quedaré yo convencido
Si tú me odias quedaré yo convencido
The song "Odiame" by Los Tres Reyes speaks of the desire for hatred rather than indifference in a relationship that has ended. The singer pleads with their former partner to hate them without mercy or restraint because hatred hurts less than being forgotten. The idea is that if the person they love hates them, it is still better than having no feelings towards them whatsoever. The singer believes that if their former partner hates them so much, it must mean that they loved them intensely at one point in time. However, the singer also reminds their former partner that hatred is only reserved for the ones we love, not for those who we feel nothing for.
In the second half of the song, the singer poses the question of what is more valuable: humility or beauty. They suggest that in the end, we will all wear the same attire in death, leading to the realization that material possessions and superficial qualities are not what truly matter in life. The singer reiterates that hating someone is only reserved for those we hold dear to us, and that it is a sign of the intensity of the love that was once shared.
Overall, the song "Odiame" speaks to the complexities of love and relationships, and the idea that even hatred can be a manifestation of love in certain circumstances.
