We might think we know a lot about someone, but in reality we are just looking at the surface level, and are unable to truly know what is going on inside. This theme is further reinforced by the repetition of the phrase “pero no sabes nada” (but you don’t know anything) and “pero no llamas, pero no llamo” (but you don’t call, but I don’t call).
Overall, “Es tan poco” is a song about the limitations of human understanding, and how we are often unable to truly know what is going on inside the people around us.
