Following a limited release of their debut "Fill My Little World" in late 2005, the band entered the UK Top 10 with their first full release "Sewn" in March 2006. Their debut album Twelve Stops and Home was released in the UK on June 5, 2006 and on February 27, 2007 in the US.
February 18th 2008 they released their second album, Join With Us.

Stylisticly, The Feeling have a debt of gratitude to the 70s, particularly bands such as 10cc, Supertramp, Pilot, Buggles, Queen, Stackridge, and other "progressive pop" acts. They are not averse to wearing their heart on their sleeve at gigs, playing covers of tunes by their favourite artists (such as 'Video Killed The Radio Star' by Buggles).
The Feeling have also followed the 'progressive' tradition of the concept album, with Twelve Stops and Home being a concept album about lost and unrequited love. The album starts with a relationship having just broken up, then follows through with the various emotions of the protagonist from hopeless dreamer to turning to drink for comfort, and finally slumping home.
Dance For The Lights feat. Roi
The Feeling Lyrics

Tell me are the crazy clothes a cry for help?
I think I'd like you if you'd smile, but you don't smile.
Stand aside and count your motions, keeping to yourself
It's just a waste of time. Don't waste my time.
Ooo, just dance
Dance like you dance when you love someone,
And if you've got no one just look above your pretty head
And dance for the lights, for the lights, for the lights.
[x2]
Turn me down again, I'll come back, turn me down,
You think you hurt me, but you're wrong, it turns me on.
No one gets to shine forever, no one gets to change the weather
Gonna sing until it stops raining, and when it stops we'll...
Dance like you dance when you love someone,
Dance like you dance when you love someone,
And if you've got no one just look above your pretty head
And dance for the lights, for the lights, for the lights.
[x2]
You've got that look again in your eyes, ooh ooh
The lights are in your, the lights are in your eyes,
The lights are in your eyes
The lights are in your, the lights are in your eyes,
The lights are in your eyes
Dance like you dance when you love someone,
Dance like you dance when you love someone,
And if you've got no one just look above your pretty head
And dance for the lights, for the lights, for the lights.
[x3]
The Feeling's song Dance For The Lights feat. Roi is a positive and upbeat tune that encourages listeners to let go and just dance. The lyrics acknowledge the struggle that some people go through in life, represented metaphorically by the "crazy clothes" that the singer asks about. However, the song encourages people to not waste their time with such worries and instead just let loose and dance. The lyrics suggest that dancing like you do when in love can bring a lot of joy and fulfilment to a person's life, and it doesn't matter whether you have someone to dance with or not. The "lights" referred to in the song can be interpreted as a symbol of hope, inspiration, or anything positive that one can dance for. The song has a catchy chorus and an upbeat melody, making it the perfect tune to dance along to.
