Du, du, du, du, du-du
Du, du, du, du
Du, du, du, du, du-du
Somewhere, my love there will be songs to sing
Although the snow covers the hope of spring
Somewhere a hill blossoms in green and gold
Someday we'll meet again my love
Someday whenever the spring breaks through
You'll come to me out of the long ago
Warm as the wind, soft as the kiss of snow
Till then, my sweet, think of me now and then
God speed my love till you are mine again
Du, du,
du, du, du, du, du, du
Du, du, du, du, du, du, du, du, du
Lara my own, think of me now and then
God speed my love till you are mine again, mine again
The song "Somewhere My Love" by The Ray Conniff Singers is an ode to a lost love that the singer hopes to see again. The opening melody is a repetitive whistling tune that sets the tone for the hope that one day the singer will meet their love again. The lyrics talk about how even though the world might seem barren at the moment, there is hope around the corner. There will be songs to sing despite the snow covering the ground, and a hill will bloom in green and gold.
The song then turns to a more melancholic mood, with the singer talking about their lost love. They hope to see their love again, someday, and think about them often. The singer paints a picture of their love, describing it as "warm as the wind, soft as the kiss of snow." They urge their love to think of them every now and then and ask for God's speed until they can be reunited again.
Overall, the song speaks to a sense of longing and hope. Even though the singer is separated from their love, they believe that one day they will meet again. It's a hopeful message that speaks to the power of love to endure even when it seems impossible.

I was on a layover in Hanover MD. waiting for the next Greyhound to take me home on leave from the Marine Crops. I watched this movie and this theme always reminds me of that time in my life. It also was my mothers favorite song, she cried and I had to dance with her every time we had a chance. She is in heaven listening to this as I type. R.H. USMC Ret. and thank you for this upload. God Bless America and the citizens who haven't learned yet what America is.

This was my Dad's favorite song. I recall playing it on the juke boxes at the diners we once frequented. The world is a different place, but somewhere, dear Dad, we'll meet again and there will be songs to sing.

When I was a little kid My parents went to see Dr Zivago. My mother went & bought this song & played it echoing thru the house! & I even found my parents dancing a bit in the livingroom! & when she died a short time later My dad told me she had dedicated this to him
