All Around the World
Lisa Stansfield Lyrics

I don't know where my baby is
But I'll find him, somewhere, somehow
I've got to let him know how much I care
I'll never give up looking for my baby

Been around the world and I, I, I
I can't find my baby
I don't know when, I don't know why
Why he's gone away
And I don't know where he can be, my baby
But I'm gonna find him

We had a quarrel and I let myself go
I said so many things, things he didn't know
And I was oh oh so bad
And I don't think he's comin' back, mm mm

He gave the reason, the reasons he should go
And he said things he hasn't said before
And he was oh oh so mad
And I don't think he's comin' back, comin' back

I did too much lyin', wasted too much time
Now I'm here a'cryin', I, I, I

Been around the world and I, I, I
I can't find my baby
I don't know when, I don't know why
Why he's gone away
And I don't know where he can be, my baby
But I'm gonna find him

So open hearted, he never did me wrong
I was the one, the weakest one of all
And now I'm oh oh so sad
And I don't think he's comin' back, comin' back

I did too much lyin', wasted too much time
Now I'm here a'cryin', I, I, I

Been around the world and I, I, I
I can't find my baby
I don't know when, I don't know why
Why he's gone away
And I don't know where he can be, my baby
But I'm gonna find him

Been around the world and I, I, I
I can't find my baby
I don't know when, I don't know why
Why he's gone away
And I don't know where he can be, my baby
But I'm gonna find him

I'm gonna find him, my b-b-baby

I did too much lyin', wasted too much time
Now I'm here a'cryin', I, I, I

Been around the world and I, I, I
I can't find my baby
I don't know when, I don't know why
Why he's gone away
And I don't know where he can be, my baby
But I'm gonna find him

I've been around the world, lookin' from my baby
Been around the world, and I'm gonna
I'm gonna find him
Been around the world and I, I, I
I can't find my baby
I don't know when, I don't know why
Why he's gone away
And I don't know where he can be, my baby
But I'm gonna find him

I swear this woman was black. I heard this song one too many times as a child and always thought this until well today. Wow. Such a soulful voice.

@Mike M Right! Americans are obsessed with race to the point it's unhealthy....almost disturbing to be honest. It really speaks volumes about the fabric of American society and just how malignant it really is! Pretty scary if you ask me.....and I say that as an American with friends from Europe, Asia, Africa, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Greenland, Iceland, etc.

Aging ain't fun but thank God I grew up in the 80s, where the real British invasion occured and we were exposed to British musicians and how less rigid they were with music genres and race. A lot of us came to understand the language of music, regardless of who sang it!

Thomas Dolby was and is a musical genius but his career never took off in America and I use to wonder why?! Then I realized it was because he was too musically diverse for Americans and they couldn't squeeze him into any musical category like Americans love to do. Imagine the talent we're missing out on because of this! Even Queen ran into problems with Americans with their video for "I Want to Break Free".

@Lizzie Beth precisely. this shit is cultural. Dumbasses in the thread seem to think it's in the blood. UK has produced many soulful white singers and bands, because white brits have adored American R&B since the 60s, when black American servicemen first turned them onto it.

@• E m m a• So called black peoples have been reclassified several times by the people who classify themselves as white peoples. No one emigrated 13 million people out of Africa to America. The so called black peoples are Aborigines to the land or Turkey Island.
