It was formed by two doctors from Simferopol — Maksim Kucherenko and Vladimir Tkachenko. The band tries to revive russian-retro-rock motives in modern music, at the same time bringing intellectual rock to a new level.
The band has released five albums so far —
2002 — Everything Will Pass, Honey (Все пройдет, милая)
2003 — The Red Button (Красная кнопка)
2005 — Loot's Ruling Over Evil (Бабло побеждает зло)
2007 — Opium for the People (Опиум для народа)
2008 — Everybody you loved so much (Все, кого ты так сильно любил)
They've also written the song that became cult for a time being and revived the image of Gagarin in russian minds — "Gagarin, I loved you" (Гагарин, я вас любила).
Maksim and Vladimir have also published two books of their poetry called "Sound and Silence" (Звук и Тишина) and "Opera et Studio".

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of ундервуд's song "Письмо в бутылке" (Letter in a Bottle) tell the story of a person who compares themselves to a drunken ship with Captain Rambo. They see themselves as a small loss for the fleet of the Earth, and despite being told all their life that life is pain, they chose to believe otherwise. The person finds themselves on a shore where they are not expected, surrounded by cheap vodka and eternal wars. Despite being surrounded by trembling creatures and a bottomless pit, they claim to be the calmest of them all.

The person addresses someone who is going to sleep while they are sinking to the bottom. They express that they had no other choice but to tread stormy fragments with their keel, and let the nocturnes howl, burying the moon, with underwater wolves. They ask the person to read and then forget about them forever, as they cannot be found by divers. They apologize for slightly wetting the last phrase with water.

The person acknowledges that everyone has found what they were looking for, and their sail twists like a slave tied to a post. And if they ever felt lonely, it was because they missed the addressee. The chorus repeats the contrast between the addressee going to sleep and the person sinking to the bottom, emphasizing their diverging fates.
