Aishitemasu
Lyrics

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Aishitemasu" by Naoko Kawai express her intense love for her partner, to the point where she wants to cry. She loves him so much that everyone she has ever met fades away in comparison to him. She doesn't want to be abandoned by him, so she leans toward him when he invites her. The first verse depicts a scene where they both sit in silence by a hill that leads to the sea, and they're in Yokohama, a city known for its port. The wind from the winter port is sweeter than the wind from the city, and she walks leaning on his large shoulders as the sun sets. She expresses her devotion to him by saying that she doesn't care what is said to her; she will follow him wherever he goes. She wants him so badly that she can smell the scent of the love potion.

The chorus is a repetition of the first verse but highlights her love for him more. The background sound of waves pays tribute to the setting of the scene by the sea. The second verse sings about how one light brings the night closer, and she hears his voice from behind. She dreams of traveling with him someday dressed in a white veil. She says she doesn't care about anything, even if it means she will never return from the depths of the sound of the sea. She nods to his words, and the sound of the sea erupts.
